View Full Version : Hud placement...

Found this little prog. that allows you to visually place hud items where you want, resize, change colors and font styles. Not sure if it's OGL friendly or not...however, it allows you to change the HUD to default with just a click of a button. I checked it out a tiny tiny bit this morning, and so far it seems to work ok for the most part. I mainly wanted to move my radar and instead of doing it all manually, I found this. Pretty neat, I think. It's done outside the game, and when you save you new hud, it writes the script for you.

Oh, I checked it out.
I'm too used to the way everything is laid out normally. Between net_graph 3 and FRAPS, I barely have enough room to see who I'm shooting at.
I wish you could get rid of the fucking radar all together I dont even know how to use it and ive been playing cs since 1.2 man.

If you go to the website, I think it tells you what's going on with it, and the program lets you show/hide any element in the hud
]*edit...the site says nothing about how to use the radar.
but...this site (http://www.csnation.net/view.php/strategy/basic/radar.csn) says how it works.
cool i've always wanted to know... but I dont think any feature of that radar is important besides the one that says where the bomb has been dropped.

Well. That's a pretty important feature...

hehe 137... I use to be like you, I forced myself to learn the way it works...
simple run down if you havent already looked into it
only your team shows up on radar, and the bomb (if you are T) Obviously the blue are your teammates, and the red is the bomb.
solid red blip = some one currently holding the bomb in this location
blinking red blip = bomb has been dropped at this location
Blue blip = a teammate
now the whole "T" looking things, (or upside down T's) indicate if some one is above or below you... so say you are on a two level building and you see a blue "blip" that loots like a T right above you... that means a teammate of yours is standing right above you. Of course the same goes for the other way around, an upside down "T" looking blip means that you are above them... sorry if this was too much of an explination, I am bored and feel like explaining =P
Hope that helps
yeah I read the explination. thx!!! I guess I will try to start using it

Neb had to explain it to me as well. But I understand it but I don't look at it enough. In the upper corner is not a good place for it.
I dont know if the prog is working or not lol.

It's pretty simple. Read the instructions on the site, and then build your hud the way you want. The button on the bottom right is where you chanve the destination directory, hit apply, and vwala! it's as easy as that.

The instructions on the site dont seem to be that clear to me anyway.
Not that it matters, I actually used the radar today.

Default for the win!
I am so unoriginal some times.. I am just too use to how things are, and I take too long to learn 'new tricks'
for example.. I just got myself a new mouse, and I STILL have no fully figured out how to deal with its sensitivity... so if you all see me sucking on the server, thats why.

I'm with Nebula on that one.
I'm also afraid of changing shit like that, and it popping up as hax if there's an update or whatever. Probably would never happen, but I'm paranoid about crap like that.
haha nebula if its uber sensitive thats a good thing as long as it has 1600 dpi.. what mouse is it? I got a razer Diamondback plasma and this thing fucking owns all logitech mice ive owned.

I'm happy with my Logitec MX300...it's heavy for a mouse, but it's lasted for almost three years now. I like it. It works.
being as I didnt feel like lugging around my usb dongle for the mx700 with me and my micro ms mouse wasnt accurate enough and was eating through batteries I decided to give a wired alternative a try, and I was really fighting this purchase against an mx518.
Half of my m3 headshots were with the ms micro mouse but man does the razer cause WAY more carnage.

yes icemat is for the win indeed. I have an icemat paired with an MX510. I still suck but I have good accessories.

Another MX510 owner checking in. I drove 2 hours to get this sumbitch (long time ago), then saw one in the circuit city by my house the other day.
Here are my babies:
