Populate the server, bitches!

Guys, I know it kind of sucks to sit in an empty server, but at least give it a chance. I sat in there for a good 20-30 minutes tonight before anyone else came in. It turned out to be pretty good even though the server never became full.

If you guys want a full server most of the time, we need to get people in there. Talk to the pubs and shit, try to have a good time. If all the pubs are having a good time, then we are most likely having a good time. I will probably be in there most of the time this weekend trying to keep it full.

I was just on. I was playing under a name I stole from Syndrome because I just forgot to change it the last time I was smurfing. Gaf Fagston. Server was full until we had a slight crash and only 2 people came back in. I played for about 30-45 mins and everyone left.

Out of curiousity, what does playing with a name other than your tagged forum name do? With all honesty, I couldn't care less what name or tag you used when playing. However, when you go into a particular server, dont you like to see the people that hosted that server in there? People are also more likely to start up a conversation with someone who is a member of the hosts (us).

Like I said, I dont really care what tag or name you use. I'm just throwing some ideas out as to what is the best way to populate a server. The last time we got a server it failed because it remained largely ununsed. You would not believe how many people told me they werent playing on it because it was "empty". Well, wtf, if it is empty, do something to get people in there, dont go play somewhere else. :wink:

I didnt play anywhere else. I played 2 maps. First was under the Gaf Fagston and was letting you know in case someone else who was GNG was smurfing. The second map I played was under my GNG name. When its 12 at night and nobody is on...im gonna get off and get some sleep.

Best hours to get people in there are around 6-10ish eastern time. If you are sittin in there at 3am waiting for people to join, thats kind of dumb. But what, exactly, is the point of smurfing? Mind you, I dont care if thats something you are "into", but I would like to understand the thought process behind NOT using a name that everyone knows you by. Well Smurfing in general is used by at least Syndrome and I for late hour play when we are just bored and want to do stupid shit like running fulls maps with just a knife and a deagle without tarnishing our clan name OR we do it not to be hassled by people sometimes because they know us. I usually dont get home from work until 10:30pm-11:00pm so....
