from the little experience i have with Icemats, i liked what i got. a bunchg of other people love them too. and there are a few other companys with glass pads as well, with good reviews.
what im wondering is, what makes this glass special? is it any different than a piece of 1/4 inch thick glass i buy at a hardware store? i can get teflon stickies for the mouse feet, and i can get a piece of glass,( sanded on the edges) and smooth or frosted, for much less than the price of an icemat.
am iwasting money if i do this, should i just go for the icemat right off the bat? or am i succesfully cheating the system?

Depends.

There is a certain coating on an icemat pad that makes it smooth as silk. Also the color layer on the glass allows for proper tracking.

For instance I own a Black IceMat pad. I love the thing to death and wouldnt trade it for another mousepad. The black color layer gives the pad the most efficient tracking, because black doesnt interupt the optical beam. Also the glass itself is like fucking in silk sheets.

I recommend just buying one. You wouldnt be dissapointed.

they coat the mat with teflon, thats what your mouse slides on and u can replace those yourself, really with the new gaming mice there is NO difference in mousepads reviews or not, i recommend buying a rayzer diamondback mouse theres nothing out there better right now

i always thought those mouse pad were designed w/ a ton of ridges so even thu its the same size as a regular mouse pad, it reads as if it were a lot bigger area.

i have a razor diamondback mouse and i really like it. it took some getting used to. I used to play cs with my sensitivity on 10 but when i got this new mouse i had to bump it down to 3 just to be able to play. this fucker is fast.
i've eventually been able to bump my sensitivity back up to 8 but it took a while.

Doesn't matter what mouse I have, I can't seem to keep my hand steady when playing. perhaps I should try my thumb trackball again....

All I use are Logitech Trackman mice. I hate using regular mice for gaming, you have to keep picking the damn thing up, and you're screwed if you run out of mousepad in the middle of something. Every computer in my house has one of these, and I'd never game with anything else. Too bad they don't have red LEDs anymore like the one I have now.

Fuck no chubbs I sucked even worse on it.

They call chubbs because of something that happened in a church. If you really want to know, say so.
