Well,
Long Story Short, I am a very big Dog/cat lover. I read in the newspaper this morning that alot of the victims of Hurrican Katrina are being threatened with Penalty of Arrest to leave their Loved animals behind stranded to starve and eventually get sick and die or to be rescued. I read this and they had a part about a Man who left his 14 year old dog behind on an Interstate Rest Shop when he was forced to leave. Luckily someone found the animal and reunited him with his dog. But that kind of shit is uneccessary to me. I understand that animals like are expendable when it comes to a humans life, but damn to leave them behind to starve and what not, how is that fair even if peoples lives are more important.
Well anyway I have done my good deed, I have donated to the PETA to help aid the rescue and give dog/cats food home and safety. If you can or would like to donate to fund, Go to Helpinganimals.com and donate.

i'm right there with you. I think its insane that they would force people to leave without their pets. Think about it. you just lost everything you have except your loyal companion and now you're asked to make the decision to leave them there all alone to most likely die?

no fucking way. I would never leave my dog behind, ever. He depends on me and I would never betray him that way even in a life and death situation.

I gave money to the Human Society. They have a fund on their main page for the people who are actively out searching for animals that are trapped.

I would encourage anyone who can help to make a donation. These animals will need medical attention, food and a place to sleep until either their owners find them or they are adopted.

I agree about helping the animals, but I would not donate to PETA. They run plenty of shelters, but not one animal rescue. Look up the numbers from the past few years, they have destroyed far more animals than they have helped or adopted. I'll do the research and find the people who have really been helping out and post it.

pets are an amazing thing..... they can help you through the thickest of times....i love my pet and would do ALMOST anything for him, but, not worth losing your life over.... they were put here for a reason.... look into that

there are a lot of non kill shelters around

unfortunately the human society is not one of them

we have a local facility called pet's inc. that is non-kill and i always make contributions to them and adopt animals thru them as well

well i volunteered to help in new orleans for red cross, so i think ive done MORE then my part... anyways if it was my choice to make between feeding my dog or my kid, tell the dog by son, cause id kick his ass off the roof and move on

the coast guards new mission is to rescue animals and hopefully reunite them

Anyone with an ounce of common sense got out of there on their own with their belongings. My neighbor had his own radio sports show down there, and his station was the last to go out. Even under emergency conditions he got everything he cared about the fuck out of that cesspool.

I feel bad for the pets whose owners were to retarded to realize class 5 hurricane + city below sea level != mix. But the shelter here in my little town kills tons of animals every day, so I'm not feeling sympathy for those who didn't care enough to protect their pets.

If some shit lime Katrina comes my way, I'm grabbing valuables, and my two cats whether they like it or not.
