what isp do you use?

comcast is pissing me off. i "updated" to a higher tier to get faster service, and am paying ten dolalrs a month more than i was, and as soon it the time hits 5 or 6 at night, im pinging at almost 20o. fuck this. i want a new isp.

earthlink is doing some deals in my area (massachusetts). anyone have recommendations, or advice. tell me your horrow stories so i avoid the shitty services.

cox? comcast? earthlink? i want cable, not dsl, definately not dial up.

I use Cox Communications but they are only as good as the wiring in your area....which is normal I would guess but their cable is good for me in my house usually get around 30-50 ping.

Neb has had some problems with them though. Not sure if they around your area though

I have Cox.

I got lucky in a few key areas with cox though.

1. Im on a grid where there are not alot of cable users.

2. The grid im on dead ends at me so I get full bandwidth.

3. Those problems I had a few months ago were fixed to spec. The tech completely rewired everything from the line outside, the box, and into the house. All new wiring, connections, splitters, and static converters.

4. They just rebuilt the node in my area.

5. I know half of the Cox techs in my area and they hook my shit up pretty decent.

apparently verizon has added fiber optic cable in the montgomery county area of MD... talked to a friend last night that pays 45 bucks a month and gets 16MB down and 6 up.. this just completely blows cable away.. i'm hoping they keep adding lines for other areas

i however have the shittastic comcast, fuck those fucking bastards

I'm cox.. i get anywhere from 20-35 ping on a regular basis.. and only have a shitty 1.5mb down.....
