Guild Wars Recruting .....

Just to let everyone know.

I am attempting to recrute for GW. We are looking for players that are able to work together and have a little sticktooitiveness. We are starting up and it is VERY HARD to get members if you don't already have an astablished guild.

Those GNG that have GW or are considering getting it, come by and help get more members by being a little more active. There are many GNG members that are on the list but some are 2 months since logging in. That inactivety on the list does not help matters.

For those reading this that are not GNG, drop a line here or contact me in game. We just need members that are willing to try to make things work.

Hey Sckoarn, glad to see some initiative on getting things off the ground. After reading your post, I think you should state more about the direction you want the guild to go. For instance, is the goal to become great pvp players and own the Hall, or do you plan on developing pve teamwork to farm the Underworld, Fissure of Woe, or defeat the big bossman and save the world? You should also mention what levels you're looking for. Do they need to be ascended or does it matter? Is Ventrillo or Teamspeak a must?

Just different things like that. Generally you spam a chat channel and send people here saying GNG, *ADULT* Gaming Community, looking for active players. Come visit us at thegng.org blah blah blah, etc . IMO, the chat channel spam is to get them here, but once they're here they should have more in-depth info waiting for them. Anyway, I'd help you out bro but school is demanding damn near waking second of my time.

Zone spamming is mostly all I do. Not many are really interested in coming to the site, but a couple have came here before even talking to me. Most of the time I spend talking to the players that ask questions, that can be as long as 30 min of typing.

We picked up another 3 players over the weekend. So, looks like If I keep at, it we will get where we want to go. But, yes, I should post up our goals, so that anyone checking it out has an idea where we are trying to head.

I have a lvl 20 R/E that I play with whenever I have a spare minute between CS, BF2, and my new addiction, Black & White 2.

im in a guild and im not even considering leaving it
now that that is cleared up
i applaud your attempts at getting active members but by mearly randomly recruiting your bound to get stuck with the kick outs of other guilds because of:
A. bad tempers
B. bad attitude
C. low activity
D. horrible player
E. the im invicible syndrome
all of those make for bad pve pvp and gvg
if you are looking for good quality i sugjest the surf system
by buying a front guild to randomly recruit and send the better more active players from that one into the real one
quite simple if you think about it

Whereabouts in Kentucky are you from? I grew up in Louisville.

As for your post, I don't think we're looking for the uber-leet, so sucking isn't so much a big deal as long as they know how to listen. The other stuff will MOSTLY be dealt with before they're even in the guild, because this is an adult guild and no one under 21 will be let in, no matter how good. That eliminates your pre-pubescents with anger and molestation issues and a lot of younger cats that think they're invincible, etc. Thanks for the concern though.

Anyway, that's just my view but I think our official spokesperson is Sckoarn, so when he sees this I guess he'll comment hehe.

We've gotten very very good at discerning who is and is not 21, the GNG has been around for 7 going on 8 years so we have some experience at this. Thanks for the input though about the surf system, we'll keep it in mind.

Yes Kalamar,

Good ideas and points. Also because we have ventrilo, you will hear the voice of the other end, and it will be very hard to hide your age in that setting. Also I spend several min talking with prospective members, and in that time I .... judge them. If you type in 1 character sentences, you dont even get to talk to me. It is slow and tough to get players on board. But I seem to be able to get them about 3 per week. I intend to drive for about 2 more months.

As for the duel guid idea, it is good, just one thing needed, that is enough members to actualy send any to another guild. Im still working on the initial numbers.

Yeah, there are alot of inactives but thats because we dont "clean up" old members. For the most part, people are welcome at any time. You dont really lose your membership here. Coordinating everyone into a single event would be a bit difficult since most people play different games and usually dont cross into other genres. However, once or twice a year someone hosts a get together where everyone is invited to attend.

All in all, it can be lots of fun. If you are interested you should stick around and meet some folks. Chat it up in Ventrilo and all that good stuff.
