I'm pretty sure Sammie stickied this here because of my first time in chat with out a headset.
I was adapting a shure sm58 balanced vocal mic through a guitar pedal into my line in, and wondering what i was doing wrong...
(was a problem with tip ring sleeve, wrong side)
I have since bought a headset and have actually had a few conversations with some members.
I really like the low profile of vent, and the low bandwidth usage.
I'm convinced that dialup players could use it as well.
I found this thread sometime last week pertaining to a free guild wars vent server. Turning announce off here is a must.
