"TALLMANSVILLE, W.Va. - Some of the 12 coal miners who died in the Sago Mine disaster scrawled farewell notes assuring their loved ones that their final hours trapped underground amid toxic gases were not spent in agony. "Tell all I'll see them on the other side," read the note found with the body of 51-year-old mine foreman Martin Toler Jr. "It wasn't bad. I just went to sleep. I love you Jr.""
Ya that situation does suck...very badly

Tucket, I am suprised a good republican like yourself gives a shit about blue collar america.
Certainly Bush HATES blue collar america.
Don't think so? Just ask me and I will tell you.
I work in profession that is both white and blue collar and you wouldn't believe what he has done to the working man in five years.
But at least we can agree - a new asshole was ripped.

kisses.
I'm in such a bad mood lately I must have my fucking period. I usually eschew conflict but lately I feel like arguing even if I know I can't share my view effectively with the other person. But the argue bug bite won't let it go so I here comes the rant...
Despite his high-profile photo-ops and rhetoric, its pretty clear George W. Bush hates unions, and hates working people. That's not surprising, considering he never did a real day's work in his life. For Bush, growing up a wealthy blueblood elitist surely meant looking down on average blue collar workers with disdain.
Since most people will probably not read this post all the way through I will the DIRTIEST dirt first as a hook then catalogue the rest of the stuff.
Did you know you no longer have the right overtime pay in the private sector? Sure, you can still get it but it is no longer the law that if you work more than 40 hours you will earn time and a half. That right is gone. And the moment it becomes viable for your employer to not pay you time and a half believe me they won't. Fair Labor Standards Act.
Ever hear of the Davis-Bacon Act? This is a little law from 1931 that ensures living wages and high standards. It's never been repealed since it was implemented. Basically it says federal contracts given out to private companies must ensure that workers for the company that gets the contract must always be paid AT LEAST the prevailing wage. This means about nine bucks an hour for laborers. Guess who repealed right after Katrina? So as the contracts are doled out to rebuild the south from the government people hired by those companies to rebuild need not be paid 9 whole dollars an hour. The companies are welcome to make as much profit as they can as long as the people actually doing the work are SCREWED.
In Feb. 2001 Bush's appointee's to the National Labor Relations Board announced that they're taking aim at card-check recognition: the fairest and fastest process for workers to demonstrate they want a union. Bush dissolved the labor-management partnership councils – a key measure to give workers more input in federal contracting. He repealed workplace ergonomic standards that were designed to prevent worker on-the-job injuries. And the administration actually intervened to block a California law that said employers couldn't use taxpayer money to run anti-union campaigns in the workplace.
Sounds like hate to me.
