Handled properly, Iraq would have been a piece of cake for our soldiers and an actual coalition. An insurgency would have a different look if there were a true coalition and the insurgency woud be condemned by the world with actually consequences. Instead, Bush has let it become the US vs. Muslims. The world, which was mostly against the war, now doesn't give a shit about the insurgency. This is bad for my country, my country's soldiers, my country's future and oh yeah, all those INNOCCENT PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN IRAQ AND DIDN'T ASK FOR THIS. Maybe they will just forgive and forget? Worse, the powers that be took the usual route and are pitting muslim sect vs. muslim sect hoping that it will weaken them all. It might but it arouses universal hatred and gains only temporary victories. The universal hatred goes on and on.

As usually Republican chickenhawks have fucked it up. Max Cleland, John Kerry, John Muthra real veterans are ignored or maligned or not voted for in a time of war and these current cowards are. If we are going to commit our soldiers to war maybe someone who knows something about war should be consulted? Maybe?

I agree with religion being a good guidance for people who need it. It really is sad how a great idea has caused such problems. Leave it to the human race to take something you are suppose to learn from to better your life, and use it to create war.

I kind of feel the same way as this guy does in this video. I was raised in a religious family, and went to private catholic school when I was in grade school. I never questioned my faith. As a matter of fact, I really felt like I had a connection at one point to 'God.' I was highly respected by the preists, for I would actually have intellectual conversations with them, comparing MY religion (Christianity) to theirs (Catholic).

Growing older, I have had more 'intellectual' conversations about religion with people who had no faith. I came to them strong headed, questioning them... "Where do you think you are going to go when you die?" "Where do you think this world came from?" "What exactly, is it, that YOU believe in?"

and believe it or not.... some of the responses I got, actually made a whole lot of sense.

I am still not quite sure as to what to believe. I want to believe there is a loving God watching over me, watching my every step. Some one who might have an 'ultimate plan' ... a good explination as to why life can suck so bad here on earth... or why such good people have to die at young ages.

Anyhow.. I am not going to share with you too much in depth what I believe,... for its really kind of confusing... even to me.

I find religion to be like anything else, a double-edged sword. People who fully believe in what they believe, I feel, can find help and solice within that. In other words, religion is as real as anything else, and the God you may pray to answers through your own faith and action based on that faith. The problem lies within the details of each. I think any religion that is willing to supress or kill another is pretty crazy, and something I can not fathom. I hate wars over religion. Why can't people just be left alone to their own devices.. though I can understand the fanatic point of view, and many of them know no other way and are willing to die for it.. which I can admire.. but get a fucking grip.

I've never been a fan of extremist religion. Fundamentists have been on my shitlist since i was 7 or 8. As far as U.S. military operations go, I think Afganistan should have been our main concern. I had no isssue when it was invaded.
There was no reason to invade Iraq. The U.N. was shoved so far up its ass that there was no way for them to even consider taking any kind of ofensive action other than talking smack. So now both fronts are humped, when if we had just taken care of Afganistan first it would have worked out better. Or maybe we should have taken care of Hussian the first time we had a war with him while there was still some kind of opposition in Iraq. I don't know. I'm just some dumb drunk with delusions of sentience. Anyhow.....
