Saw some info on this on TV.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5652141/

Seems those close to the coast may be in for a damp time.

I know the artical is kind of old, but has anyone heard of anything to do with this? If not do you think Governments should?

I don't know, if I could inflict an opinion on that I would just say let it go and when it hits, it hits. Ya people are probably going to die, lots of people. But how can you really predict something like a volcano landsliding? and why spend millions now to blow it up safely if its not going to happen for another 1000 years.....seems like a waste of time and money.

Ok,
So I wondered about this, because I saw another TV program, Some paranormal documentry. There were several people which claimed to be able to see into the future. There was about 5 of them. They all had a similar vision about something that happens to the north amarican contenet. They had a vision which showed the south, central and east parts of the US under water. They all said they see this in the near future. In the same program, it was presented that the Mya nation prediced their own down fall and end. They also predicted an event which has not happened, but will happen Dec 2012. This event will change man kind, so they say.

Some time later, I saw a TV program on this volcano, and the two stories kinda made me think.

Also in the artical is mention of astaroids being seen to be movable if we have enough time. Now if we are willing to put effort into that, why would we not even monitor a potenial threat like this Volcano?

without reading the article i guess i would have to guess you were talkin about Mt. Cubre vieja (sp) anyways saw this documentary on massive tsunamis on discovery about 2 years ago and i kept thinking to myselft "if terrorists were smart they could just set up some controlled blasts and send the entire side of the moutain into the ocean." i guess its a good thing basic cable isnt available to everyone.

trapped water is the supposed reason for the future collapse. water collected between solidified dikes (volcanic vents which never brok the surface or went extinct) with intruding magma the water expands with gas buildup pushing the side of the mountain out. eventually about a billion cubic tons of rock and debris is going to hit the ocean sending a huge tsunami racing towards the east coase of the US. estimates state water as far as 12 miles inland. NY..obliterated.

geology was my favorite class ive taken so far. dont ask me how i remember all this shit im a nerd.

I was having the same thoughts about the planned event by unfreindlies. What a way to screw up everything far away from your desert.

And then the San Andreas fault line lets go ala Christopher Reeve's Superman, and falls into the ocean...

Worrying about volcanic tsunami's and plate tectonics are a little beyond the scope of my comprehension. Might as well worry about when you're gonna die, 'cause it's going to happen.

Q: What's the opposite of Christopher Reeve (http://www.christopherreeve.org)?

A: Christopher Walken (http://www.walken2008.com/).

it's funny how psychics like to predict negative events.. even the one in the Harry Potter books... we know that makes my argument 10x's stronger
