A wise man once said - "The highest form of Patriotism is dissent."

Here is a story of a Nurse who has been brought up on charges for writing a letter complaining about the Bush Administration.

I learnded a while ago when dealing with neo-cons that they don't deal with these issues when they arise. There will be no "liberal" media response to this bc there is no "liberal" media. It is already controlled by the right wing of the republican party. An example, you ask? This event happened A WEEK AGO.

The republican party of the american government will ignore this issue though it is about as antiamerican as you can get and as important as you can get too. The purposely ignore them - it's part of their plan. They don't touch issues like these so as not to give them any momentum or additional life.

It is also a case in point on why Rush and Sean, Bill and Ann and the rest are hypocrits in the EXTREMUS - if they really loved america like they claim they would see why and shout out loud that this is Anti-American behavoir in the extreme. But they don't. They NEVER do. And thus they are cowards and propoganda spouting america haters. They never will have and once of respect from me and consequently neither will thier dedicated listeners or sponsors. They only toe the party line at the cost of the country - as long as its best for the republicans.

The VA is a government agency. The VA knows that GWB has their back in this. That amounts to fascism.

The reason most of the conservatives on this site wont respod to this or take it seriously, I suspect, is because their party is behaving more and more out of line with their own morals and beliefs. They have no response because this behavoir isn't conservative or republican. I have been saying it since 2000 but most people really felt GWB was the best choice.

Clearly, he was not. But people don't like to admit they were wrong and worse they don't like taking responsiblity for their mistakes. It's not too late but sometimes I think it almost is.

How much more will it take for people to realize Bush is and has been and continues to be the worst president in the history of america?

This just in the news today - the leader of the 9/11 attacks was identified no less than thirteen times before Septemeber 11th and ignored all times. Because the Bush administration and his apointees CHOSE to ignore it. Porno was a bigger concern than terrorism and the terrorists struck.

Think about Katrina and its effects - in five years since nine-eleven it obviously hasn't been the policy of the Bush admin to make america more prepared for disaster. Katrina was a DISASTER and a natural one. Sure, we can dole out blame everywhere but when the shit hit the fan FEMA was unable to deal with the disaster effectively. Imagine if it had been a dirty bomb or a biological attack or a nuclear bomb? We would STILL be dealing with it this afternoon. That's how much Bush has done to make america safer and more prepared.

Those two things - 9/11 and Katrina are ACTUAL SEDITION and yet most of america lies comatose and inert.

The best part is so much worse was said and done about Clinton who was also a war time president. And no one ever locked up seditious nurses then.

my god......what have we done?!?!?!11!!?! hah this sounds like I can compare this (though she is in trouble on a much larger scale) to a friend of mine who while at another high school (haven't a clue why) took a lighter and burned a hole in the seat back of the seating in the auditorium. The hole was about the size of a pencil eraser, and so the school charged him with arson with malicious intent? not to sure about what all the charges were but I know the arson was definately one of them.

JESUS PEOPLE GET A GRIP, who the hell would try to challenge a government that spends over 400 billion in military funding each year?

Egads I actually agree with sammie and 3043 on a political issue. That is probably the most assanine thing I have read in a long time. Im gonna go out on a limb (its a short one) and say the VA way over stepped their bounds. Gov agencies have strict policies on participating in political activities on "company time". If she did it away from work I hope she sue's the hell out of them and wins.

According to the article she wrote the letter on her own personal time and on her own computer - though they took her work computer and now she fears losing her job.

As far as Clinton being a war time president - he certainly was as much of one as GWB. Both prez's had serious military engagements. Neither GWB nor Clinton had congress declare and acto f war. GWB's happened to be illegal and unethical and unwarranted, however. In fact, Clinton managed to stop the genocide in Bosnia without a SINGLE american soldier lost.

But Clinton shares only the minimalist of blame for 9/11. The VAST MAJORITY is Bush's fault. It happened while GWB was on duty for nine months. A memo was sent to him, not Clinton, a month before the attack outlining the attack and so it is Bush's fault. But enough about Bill - he hasn't been president for six years.

As far as the Katrina disaster there are two points that can' be ignored. Clinton made FEMA a Secretarial position. Bush demoted it. After 9/11 the idea should have been, by ANY REASONABLE man, to make sure FEMA was able to deal with disaster of serious magnitude since 9/11. Instead BUSH put incompetent idiots in charge of FEMA. No one forced him to put cronies in there. Instead of looking at Katrina as a dry run to see how smoothly we could save americans in the light of any disaster it was fucked up. Instead of relishing the chance to make sure in four years we have improved our processes and are ready to MINIMIZE the damage by terrorists, well, Bush stayed on vacation, Condi went shoe shopping and later, even though it was apparent to everyone that the opposite was true, Bush LIED DIRECTLY TO OUR FACES and said, "Brownie, your doing a heck of a job." Clearly, GWB didn't look into things before saying that. He just had utter contempt for the american people and seriously thought that we would just believe whatever bullshit spewed from his mouth.

It is the gov't's job to make sure that it's major agency's work well. The buck stops with the president. He is ultimately accountable. He failed us in September and he failed with Katrina. He will fail us again, that is certain.

As far as Carter being so bad? What exactly did he do that was horrible? Recall he did what no one in history EVER did or has since been able to emulate - he brought peace to the middle east between Egypt and Israel. Everyone in the world thought it was impossible - including Israel and Egypt. No one has come close since. Certainly this president hasn't done a thing to make things better in the most volatile part of the world. The last person to make some headway was...Clinton.

The reason FEMA was so mismanaged and unorganized is Dubbya's fault also. His administration trimmed the budget for FEMA several times to almost nothing, merged it with Homeland Security, and put morons in charge who knew nothing about disaster recovery.
