View Full Version : Sorrow's Furnance (again)

After last weeks marathon run through Sorrow's Furnance I can't help but say this...

AWESOME JOB FOLKS! We had quite a few deaths but never a total party kill (TPK). Most of us picked up a green item of some sort (sorry sammie) and made around 5 plat.

I know that Sckoarn and Zzala both have mentioned some sort of mission that involves blowing up doors with an NPC following and I'm really interested in trying this mission. Most of the information I've looked up hasn't really clued me in as to what goes into this. So this is what I would like to do.

1. Use this thread to discuss exactly what is needed to enable the mission for everyone so it can be done before hand.

2. Discuss who can make it (Let's assume a Friday or Saturday playtime).

3. *this may be the most important section* Discuss what characters we need with us. How many Monks, how many tanks, who's going to be calling targets, who the damage dealers are and what skills will compliment each other best.

4. Let's keep this on topic as much as possible.

Post up folks, lets get the ball rolling! Maybe we can get some deathball action in PvP once we get a good PvE section going again.

Ok,
There are 6 or so quests that can be done from NPC's outside of the War Camp. Two of them are kind of hard. Zzala and myself have done all but two of these missions. Of course they are the last 2 and most difficult. We need a full group of players to do them. Zzala's elemenalist and my Ele are the two toons that need to do the last two quests.

Once the last two quests are done it opens up yet another quest or quests. This one includes the one that will allow you to have the Keg guy along. He gives you powder Kegs, which can blow down doors. There is more to SF than we have seen.

I forget the exact names of the quest needing doing. One is Ossoro (sp).

As for details about what to bring, lets just get everyone there and see what we can do from there. I do not remember the details of what is needed as I have only attempted these once or twice each. So I do not have a detailed plan of attack. We will just have to make one up as we go along. (the real fun of it all is, doing it not knowing how)

I am up for going again. The only character I can bring is a Warrior/Monk though.

That's fine, we need tanks.

Can everyone that wants to play post up what they have that can go to Sorrow's Furnace?

I can make it. I could bring either my necro/ele, my warrior/ele or my necro/monk
I feel more comfortable with my necro monk and i think we will have enough ele's anyway
I definately think we need zzala's minion necro. She has her own private army

Remember,

Zzala or myself or both, need the quests. So one or both of us will be playing an Elem. If we have a couple monks, and 2 tanks and others, 2 Elem can be the topper. Just getting together to try these quests will be good in itself. Some of these quests take a couple times to figgure out. Not sure but I would put the last two we need in the same catagory as Thunderhead Keep. There may be many failures before we even have a clue how to win.

i can only bring my elem/mes... unless i play for hours upon hours and bring my monk up to speed....

I really think we should go with 2 tanks, 2-3 monks (2 healing, one protection) and then the rest should be spike damage with knockdown so we can concentrate on one enemy at a time and move through a group quickly.

I was also thinking that I have that superior protection prayers rune so I could do a quick infuse run with some pubs and get a piece of armor infused so I can swap out as needed. Or I just find a Superior vigor and throw that on there and go full protection/healing and divine favor.

So what day is good for everyone? Friday or Saturday?

Just use some of those hours apon hours of CS to level your monky Chubbs.

We should also get our member through Thunderhead if they are ready, we have enough players on, as a priority. Also, we could do the ring of fire missions after we have enough members past Thunderhead. They are fun, and challenging. Some good skills in those missions to be captured.

As for the group content for the SF quests, the combo you have indicated Thunder looks good to me. If I have to play a monk, then at least we would have to Ele doing damage.

Friday and or Saturday is fine by me, just that Zzala works on Saturdays so we can not plan to have her alone during the day.

That's what I was thinking, Friday is best. I'd rather have Zzala than not have her, considering you both are the original reason for this post.

As for the group formation, I really don't think we'll have a problem with just about any type of group we bring. But I think that we should try and be effecient if for nothing more than time wasted on easy fights. We should be chewing up Deep Knights and other dwarves now with knockdown skills we have available. I'd also like to see a Ranger with us, for trapping and to pull things.

Right now all I have that far is my Elem. My monk is now in the desert and has completed the Dunes of Dispair(sp), thanks to Sckoarn, Zzala, Thunder, and Chubbs? for the help. All I know it was a saturday morning/early afternoon when we did it. I want to get her to Thunderhead keep soon and get her through that. I still have a little ways to go with her but she is coming along. I'm unsure about friday evening, usually we have company over. But if you need the help I'll help. It was a blast when we were running around the other day. I yet have to get a green item but I'm looking forward to it.
