Before we start worrying about women being mistreated in other countries maybe we should make sure our own shit is ship shape. Our backyard is looking more and more messy and less and less like a free country.

This is way toooooo much government. People ask, "How has the Patriot Act (or similar law enforcement approaches) infringed upon your rights?"

This article is your answer. It only gets worse from here. President Bush=Worst president ever. Who would let these things, the most unamerican of things, happen under their watch?

Only someone who is not a true patriot but a phoney rich boy politician who doesn't gvie a shit about what american stands for in the minds of its people.

Buts whats worse is this is only what is just being found out. Just because we appeared to cry wolf in the beginning and there was little evidence, (but still more than enough for me), doesn't mean there are no grave infringements. Slowly, they begin to surface all the while people are saying , "No big deal".

It is a big deal. Its my fucking country.

EVEN WORSE, is the small infringements only make it more difficult for people to get outraged. Eventually, people will be accustomed to the kind of bullshit found in this article and so the "bar" for outrage will be raised and the next level of intrusion will be even worse. It will make you wish for the days when the government would only pull shit like this.

For CHrists Sake man, We had 3 airplanes used as weapons to kill people on Sept 11, 2001. FUCKING AIRPLANES aimed at buildings just to KILL PEOPLE, SLAUGHTER< MAIM< DESTROY AMERICANS... Tell me this, when has any other president had 3 airplanes hijacked and used as weapons to kill hundreds of people?????? I dont believe in this whole: HOLY SHIT THE GOVERNMENT IS TAKING US OVER< OMG REBEL REBEL BEFORE WE BECOME TRAMPLED UNDERNEATH THE TYRANTS WHO OPPRESS US......Tell me again, what president and congress have been in office when 3 airline airplanes are hijacked on the same day and 2 of them hit their target killing massive amounts of people......(killing...as in dead, they arent breathing anymore...for anyone who doesnt understand the gravity of what happened.)

Oh but wait, that was in 2001, we americans have a short memory....2001 is forever ago, who cares about 2001...Its all about now, The government is holding back our freedoms GOddamnit!!! They arent protecting us from another sept 11, because that was 4 1/2 years ago, theirs no way it could happen again!!!!! THE Fucking BUSH administration is climbing in our rights.....I mean holy shit, God forbid they worry about a decent amount of money appearing in someones account( Maybe they were a lil paranoid)

But You know the Terrorists raised money for the airline training and militia training from selling lemonade on the side of the road to tourists...

Sure our government is being paranoid as fuck, But WHO WOULDNT?? We had Terrorists boarding OUR planes and turning them into weapons of mass destruction! Tell me oh great, "The government is taking over our lives thinkers" what the hell is your plan, after you see the World Trade Center crumple with hundreds of people inside, and then half of your Pentagon Smashed all to shit, with another few hundred people killed... Please do tell me what your plan on Sept 12, 2001 would be.

Because I am dying to hear your plan that would keep us terrorist free and make our country a fuckin utopia where nothing went wrong, and the government didnt need to watch anyone .....

Maybe we should start hanging rape victims in the town square so that you guys could have something to bitch about some more. God forbid, the government is a little worried about terrorist funders......Because thats just as bad as some woman protecting her life and getting hung for it, because over there in most regions of the middle east women are the scum of the earth....Yet here we can raise holy hell about the government being overcautious......

Like I said before and I will say again, Lets all take a roadtrip overseas for 6 months and just soak in the culture, because we all know the USA is so much more intruding in our lives than other countries....

Look at this, how long have you had the right to vote?? (and how many that bitch about the current government have actually voted????) Iraq just got the opportunity to vote in over 20 years!!! You think we are getting our rights trampled on? Spend 20 years dealing with a tyrant who brutally murdered thousands upon thousands of innocents who you cant get rid of because you have no rights??

BAh, this discussion gets me all hotblooded and angry...I need a cold shower and a stiff drink.. I know you all want to debate me, but alas, i said my 2 cents and I am not going to argue my opinion, So say what you will, dissect my argument all you like, as for me I am done with this thread, I might volunteer for another deployment if I say any more....

Sorry if I offend anyone, this is just my opinion, and I am not trying to force it on anyone, its just that I love my country and GOVERNMENT even when they fuck up, and I know I need to speak up to defend them

Well where is the line at. Intrution into your bank accounts, maybe listening to your private phone calls, or hold on I have it... they will cross the line when big brother is listening to your private converastion in your own home. If that doesn't bother you what does. House to house searches in the name of protecting this great country.

I protect people for living, from other and thenselves. I do believe doing things the right way and not bending this nations constitution. If you bend it enough times it will break.

thegreaterbad
03-03-2006, 09:16 PM
But I dont think its that big of a problem, because unless youre making drug deals or planning on organizing a militia, "big brother" doesnt care, The way I see it, I voted for them, or say I voted against them and lost, thats my government, I can voice my grievances, but all in all, the people who we voted for, or lost to. They run the government, I am not saying let them run us like a tyranny, but they arent even close to that. They havent done anything close to being 7000 pegs next to countries like cuba and pre-invasion Iraq or Iran. They are like any other government that is scared shitless about terrorist attacks... People are blowing little things out of proportion, once things start actually becoming threatening to our standard of living and our "rights" then we can actually voice back...

I agree with jethro on the bend till break rule, I know you cant allow them to continue drawing the line in the sand to where they want it, But I dont feel like they are really moving the line at all. They are just being paranoid about the current situation.

You have to agree that the US and the government was not prepared at all for Sept 11, 2001. It simply just showed the world that We are not as rocksteady as everyone thought..(Please correct me if I am wrong) No United States Government has ever had to deal with this type of situation before, they are figuring it out as they go along, thats one of the major issues in Iraq, Bush and his people werent expecting the insurgents to fight back like this. They are simply learning as they go along, and what sucks is that the troops have to feel the burden of that learning process. :frown:

I feel the government is in the same position with us, they dont know how to combat this terrorist threat, so they are learning as they go....And unfortunately, a lot of toes are going to be stepped on before we come up with any kind of solid proposition:confused:

I try to stay out of these types of discussions, but not this time.

I think everyone is missing the whole picture:
If you think deeper into the article, you might understand a little better.

1)You have this family that just decides to move at the drop of a hat. Moving accross country, as I've done twice in the past two years, is no minor investment. These people just went on a whim. Sure, they have plenty of money, and there's nothing wrong with that.

2)They have this credit card debt, that they let get to a level they deemed unnacceptable so they drop a few grand, at one single time to bring it down.

3)You have a govt. that is rightfully paranoid that has set standards to credit companies.

So, if these people are financially secure, can afford to move accross country at the drop of a hat, and drop a few g's at one time just for a credit card bill, then why did they let it get to a level that was unacceptable? Why not pay a little extra every month instead of all at one time?

I would most certainly find this suspicious. irresponsible to say the least.

The dept. of Homeland Security has set some laws in place to help protect us. Some of them may be questionable, but if you don't do anything stupid, like let you credit card go unpaid and drop that much money you don't have anything to worry about.

Furthermore, the matter has been blown way out of proportion. This article was just some hippies way of trying to stir up some lame shit. I mean...the money went through. The credit co. new it was there, they just needed to wait for it to clear. They didn't lose their home. They didn't go to jail until it cleared or anything like that. I just don't see what the big deal is. So they got investigated... it's their own fault. They could have easily prevented this by being more responsible and paying the monthly payment instead of trying to pay it off all at once.

If not the DHS, it would have been the DEA that investigated...and nobody would have blinked an eye.

So OK. I have moved 4 times in the last 3 years and I have a credit card with 4500 on it. The reason I have 4500 on a credit card is because I bought a house and made improvements. Now twice a year I recieve what I call a big pay. I cash out the overtime I worked, holiday pay, unmiform pay, degree pay, and training pay. I use the money to go on vaction and to pay off the credit card. Now I raise a red flag somewhere in the banking world which gets reported the FBI or some other law enforcement agency. My credit accounts get put on hold, and sometimes along with bank accounts, and now my life is put on hold while someone looks into my life. I have a problems with this.

Is it just cause or reasonable belief that you have done anything wrong by moving and trying to pay something off. In my mind that is no. Dont get me wrong I do believe in doing anything and everything possible to protect people and this nation. But at what cost are we going to do this. I do believe the government is starting to over step the "line in the sand" and will move the line to suit them when enough people start to complain.

If the government is not kept in ckeck they will over step the boundies and it will very hard to fix it.

GB you blow my mind sometimes.

If youre ok with the government completely up your ass in the name of protection why not move to china?

3043
03-05-2006, 11:34 AM
I don't think you quite get it GB. If you think this level of intrusion is there for our protection you are mistaken. Just what is this protecting us from, exactly?

Lame hippy shit, too? Being proud americans, who fiercely love thier country and thier rights is not lame hippy shit. When you give an inch of rights eventually governments take a mile. That's why you fight even "lame" shit like this. The "inches" add up fast.

A gov't that is rightfully paranoid? How so? What right does a gov't have to be "paranoid" about its citizens?

paranoid (pr-noid) adj. Exhibiting or characterized by extreme and irrational fear or distrust of others

The citizens of the USA did not cause 9/11. The citizens of the USA do not deserve to be punished bc of the incompetency of Govt that allowed 9/11 to happen. To quote that new movie, "Citizens shouldn't fear thier govt, Govt should fear its citizens." Govt is our bitch, not the other way around. The president, whether Bush or Clinton isn't my boss. I'm his fucking boss. If he don't like it, too bad, quit then and let the next most qualified man or woman through.

And the DEA investigating instead of the DHS? I would be just as pissed regardless of which Federal Gov't agency was behaving patently unamerican.

You mention its suspicious that these people pay off thier bills? And irresponsible? Thats just whack. What is so suspicous about that? And running up 6000 bucks in cc debt is nothing. Wanting to pay off a bill is Suspicious and irresponsible? What sense does that make?

Read the article carefully it wasn't the amount the tipped off the intrusion. It had nothing to do with 6gs - it had to do with the payment being bigger by a certain percentage than thier normal ones. My AMEX card has a payment box made up of 8 squares. Inclding change, that means some people pay 100,000 payments. The big deal is that they did something out of the norm. The paid more than thier usual by too much.

That ain't China but it ain't my USA either.

This all could have been avoided, you say, if they would have just conformed and did what's normal and expected. One small problem with that, though, as american citizens they have every right to do what they did and not be harassed by their gov't.

I'm about to pay off over $20,000 in debt in the next 60 days.

I completely agree with 3043 on that whole deal, especially the "Bush is the worst president EVER" part. And yes GB is one looney mother fucker, we all know that. He can mistake planes being landed on the sides of buildings as weapons of mass destruction..... I'm sorry but when was 5k people and a couple of buildings ever considered mass destruction? You are trying to compare something almost like an ant getting stepped on to something more along the lines of Hiroshima, and thats not right. I still can't even begin to understand what people still see in Bush, you know other than the fact that he's a total fuckin moron, his jokes suck cock&balls, and it would make the world a better place if he died tomarrow. Homeland security can go to hell, most of the country doesn't need it. They should have called it New York Pussy Security. That spot that got hit in the pentagon? I thought it was empty and nobody got hurt there(minus the people on the plane?), you know it was just the pentagon using the terrorist hitting the towers as an excuse to renovate their fuckin offices.

hey, I'm not saying people dieing is a good thing (unless your name was hitler and you ran a country called germany), but seriously if you don't know how fast the population is multiplying then you are BLIND. 5000 people is a drop in the mother fuckin bucket dude, more people are born on a daily basis. Because I personally knew none of the people that were "Tragically" killed by the terrorists, I really do not care, and for people to try and make me feel bad because they actually knew someone who I had never even met that was killed in that political agenda is a bit triffling. When they bring the fight to my front door I'll get my knife, gun, rocketlauncher whatever and I'll put a bullet right in their fuckin eye. I'm not gonna go chase down some pussy ass bitch in a foriegn country, take over their government for oil, and slap around the country. And I'm sure as shit not gonna sit back and talk trash about people I don't know or understand what their motivation was to begin with.
