I'm no Cassandra, despite what others may think of my online persona (my rl friends think I'm not serious enough and am a bit of a Hedonist  ), but here is some more grim or at least seriously suggesting the grim, news.

The article is vague (purposefully?) but...well I'll let you draw your own conclusions...

Hmm.. I didnt read this in DEPTH, but I dont really see anytning wrong with it?

Its just like having your license and registration... it is now just your fingerprint. I would imagine if a police officer asked you for your social sec. #, you probably wouldnt be too reluctant to give it to him?

Dont get me wrong, I dont want to eventually be 'controlled/monitored' by anyone.. but I dont think that is what they are doing here... I believe its just another form of identification...

...not to mention, on top of that - if they had the means to, they could drag you off to the police dep and fingerprint you..

hehe.. I see your point sammie..

but still. Its not like police officers havent been able to fingerprint you in the past... now they can just do it on the side of the road.

I guess in all respects to 'resisting' being controlled or monitored by "the man" ... maybe it would be better if they didnt have the ability to fingerprint

hmmm

When my brother and I got our prints taken to get our License to Carry (so we can own guns and go hunting in massachusetts) my brother got his prints in a mtter of two minutes tops (thats ink and digital, both hands). The cop couldn't get mine digital after about ten miuntes (the scanner jsut won't read my prints) and then he went through an ass ton of ink to get them. Apparently I have a flat spot on all my finger tips, and thumb, and very vague prints.

Based on this, maybe should get myself into some Oceans 11 shit. hmmmm

ive actually been finger printed about 6 times

twice when i worked for wachovia
once when i worked for smith barney
once when i did a small venture with first allied
once at BB&T bank
and once for BB&T Investments

Oh and once when I was arrested...I guess that makes 7.

But I work in a highly regulated job. Securities exchanges are heavily monitored. Backgound checks and the whole nine yards. Many people do not require to be finger printed.

Now they have these machines at the grocery store where you can log your digital finger print into a scanner to buy your groceries. They are all over town.
Now dont get me wrong, I'm sure its more convenient than giving someone your card and signing or writing a check and showing your drivers license but jesus H christ.......is anything sacred any more or are we willing to do anything for the sake of convenience?

those bitches at Publix grocery store are not getting my finger print. Next thing you know they will want my urine and my blood?

Think I'm kidding?

All they wanted at my employment to begin with was finger prints.
Finally they started asking for urine.
Last year they demanded my blood.
I've been putting off the blood work appointment for a full year. I just keep rescheduling it. But a memo was sent last week saying "those of you who are rescheduling are about to be fined heavily and will loose all your benefits if you reschedule again"
So off I go to give my blood, against my will, to a fortune 500 company.

Does anyone see anything wrong with this picture?

We are headed down a very bad path.

It may not affect you today, so many people dont give a shit. But trust me, its something we should all be gravely concerned about. Dont wait until its your turn.....and it will be...to finally get upset about it. By then its too late.

Hell it may already be too late

yea bizzle, that's what's its like

freaking vampires

actually, i think they are just profiling us all and stock piling medical data to supply to insurance companies

either way, its a direct violation of my right to privacy

The agreement is I give them my time for their money. I sell them a portion of my life and labor and in return they give me little greem slips of paper so i can buy things like a sheltor and food.

No where in that agreement should it require me to give them all my bodily fluids.

Its just freaking twisted
