Tablet Drawing

I'm no artist but I can appreciate it nonetheless. Here's 2 videos of Hawk from Applegeeks.com using his Wacom Cintiq 21UX. I thought I remember someone, maybe SNK, saying they used a tablet, but I dunno if he meant one of these. It's a tablet over a screen so you really can see what you're doing. Cool stuff, just wish I could draw.

thats pretty sweet...

no need for an eraser on that kind of art work... its almost kind of like pastels, you want the whole page to be covered with SOME kind of color... then just smudge, add color, or do whatever you want for all of the different shades...

that thing is bad ass, I've messed around with something similar, but not quite exactly like that...

Didnt see this till now....ya we use tablets at work and they make a WORLD of difference in photoshop. I can draw with my mouse also but with a tablet it is so easy to draw and I can get the smooth lines you cant get with a mouse. Also there are erasers on those pens the Wacoms we use have a "eraser" on the top its just a different button that you can press down when you flip the pen over. Great stuff....if anyone is into graphics then I would suggest getting one they sell different kinds...from the inexpensive to the hardcore ones :lol:

Cool video also :) also that isnt even a tablet hes got the badass setup that I wish I had sometimes. Hes actuallly using his moniter as a tablet....which you said Zero but we dont use that here.......there is a laptop that just came out that does this....killer stuff. WE have thought about doing somethen like this for our tattoo shows and such. Setting up a tv and have either me or the other artist there doing work with a tablet drawing up somethen for work and im sure it would draw a crowd. That dude is talented but a video of one of us at my company would be better...not trying to sound all full of myself though :lol:

I have a tablet. Mark got it for me as a christmas present. Nothing fancy but I have not really played around with it in photoshop. I should hook it into my secondary rig I try to get a feel for it.

Ya just a fair warning it does take a while to get used to. It of course doubles as a mouse so I think one day im gonna bring it home and use it in CS just for fun :lol:

That guys makes it look so easy, but with the video sped up you can't tell how long it took him to draw and color. I am also graphically challenged and can't draw much of anything.

If you read Hawk's little blog on Applegeeks (http://www.applegeeks.com/index.php) he said the coloring took about 20 minutes to do, and the video is real time, no cuts, just sped up to about 4 minutes

My uncle Mike taught me to draw and would never ever ever let me use my eraser. He was incredible. He didn't have to ever use his eraser. Some people are jsut so good that they don't.
