After 22 YEars of Intel-only, Dell will be broadening to AMD chips. The chips will only be Opterons for use in its high-end, multiproc servers. Dell spokesmen did not deny that they are considering them for other models; however, all desktop and laptop models in its current roadmap are Intel only.
