Hitchens and I are both from the same cloth, so we tend to agree on most things, aside from our religious views. We're both former hard leftists who grew disenchanted with the left and plow our own way. He called the Viet-Cong his "brothers-in-arms" and I called communists "statists" and "half-ass." In any case we're both rabidly anti-fascist.
For those who accuse the administration of being fascist as well as GWoT, I'd suggest they take a hard look at who we're fighting.
I notice a many hard-leftists rebelled after 9/11 instead of toeing the party line, his falling out began earlier but was consummated in the wake of 9/11. Those are people very worthy of respect and attention and always have an individual instead of collectivised spin on things.
