I wanted to give this sport the benefit of the doubt but all I have seen for the past 2 hours is corrupt officiating and pussy players who writhe and cry on the ground in apparent agony from the barest of fouls. I swear I have never seen a bigger group of pansies in my entire life. They get carried off on a stretcher for everything! It's pure comedy. And the lack of any type of replay system in this sport is plain laughable. If it had been England or Germany playing when that bs call had been made there would have been rioting in the streets! And the world wonders why Americans hate this lame ass sport.

Superbowl most def. I don't really follow pro season too much but I do watch the playoffs at times and the Superbowl. I rather watch college play football and then again I'm not a fanatic.

I've never really been impressed with our country as far as their performance in soccer. We just cant seem to keep up with a real mans sport.

That's cool Sckoarn. Yeah hockey to me is more of a Canadian sport. The series was awesome to watch. Oilers and the 'Canes played their hearts out. Oilers came back from a 3-1 losing streak. Both teams played very well. Still impresses me is the Goalie for Carolina is 20 yrs old and a rookie. And made MVP.. That is awesome and he is from Edmonton I believe.

I'll be honest, Bizzle, I was really enjoying the game until that penalty kick. I don't think I'll give up on it quite just yet but with so much at stake in these games I think FIFA definitely needs some time of replay system or a setup where the coaches can challenge a select few calls a match like in the NFL. In any other sport it's fairly easy for a team to bounce back after a bad call but in soccer where you're lucky to score 2 times a match, a bad call is just crippling. That and get rid of the offsides penalty (which I still don't fully understand), it seems to kill the momentum of a game for no good reason.

if an offender is beyond the last (opposing teams) defender, and the ball is then kicked to him.. he is "off-sides"

I kind of agree that off sides is kind of lame in soccer.. but if you really think about it.. it keeps the game interesting. To avoid off sides, an offender must out-manuever the defender.. or out run him to the ball.

I think that is the basic idea.. is to keep them from doing that. I agree with it being one less defender though. However, if you have watched a team who plays soccer CORRECTLY ... a forward will NEVER help out in defense.. it just doesnt happen.

Perhaps they could/should change the rule to off-sides only counting if you are in the goal box.. other than that, you are already 20+ yards out from the goal.

He did great. Two goals and now he's tied for all-time goals scored in the World Cup. I switched it over to the Cro/Aus game and it was WILD. I feel for that poor refs safety because the Croatians looked like they were going to lynch him. Two of them pushed him at different times at the end. He will definitely need some security for the next couple of weeks lol.
