The womb environment makes people gay; a fascinating article.

I dunno about this one. How many big brothers do you have? I've known only-child gays. That wouldn't account any possible miscarriages prior to their birth, which doesn't come up in conversation often.
The antibodies created may affect the developing male brain.
This would seem to be an environmental effect, not genetic. IE, Women who have too much amniotic fluid are at higher risk for having children with poor growth. Hemolytic disease is caused by Rh differences between mom and fetus where her antibodies attack the fetus.
Andy Forrest, a spokesman for gay rights group Stonewall, said: "Increasingly, credible evidence appears to indicate that being gay is genetically determined rather than being a so-called lifestyle choice.
I don't see "genetically determined" supported within the article.

I find it funny that there has to be some "reason" why people are gay. Who gives a shit? Peoples' desires, needs, emotions, etc can't even be explained yet. Perhaps in the future we will know EXACTLY why gay people are attracted to people of the same sex. However, until we have some PROVEN method of detecting, and changing peoples will and desire, everything else is just conjecture and speculation.

As far as the article that was posted... I don't understand how a study of 944 people can be indicative of ANYTHING. Maybe there is an emotional difference between the way mothers raise biological sons or adopted sons? Did the "study" attempt to rule that out? No. It's all bullshit. As most people who know anything about anything will attest, statistics and "studies" can always present the numbers so they come out anyway you want them to.

Damn it man... why can't people just live and let live? There are so many bigger things to worry about than the queer next door. You think I give a shit if my kid see's two gay guys holding hands or anything like that? No, I fucking do not. I worry more about the number of violent crimes happening in my neighborhood and how many sex offenders there are. I care more about this retarded war in Iraq. People need to get over their ignorance and bigotry and move along.

If being shy is given a syndrome name and being a pain-in-the-ass-kid-that-needs-a-good-smack-from-his-pansy-parents can be given a name, why not this?

Obviously science has no taboos medicating things we consider mere personality traits. It makes no sense to pick out some, but leave out others because of political correctness.

Why does everything have to have a name? Who gives a shit? If you are shy, you are shy, why does it need a "syndrome name"? We have gotten along for all these years by just accepting peoples' personalities. Now there is a mad rush to "put a name" to everything.

I find it funny that there has to be some "reason" why people are gay.
Of course there is.
Depending on your belief system:
why did God make gays like this?
Why did God allow this to happen to gays?
Why do gays choose to be gay?
or
Why does natural selection choose homosexuality in a significant number of cases?

Why?
Ignorant means not knowing and we all are.
I think only an idiot doesn't ask why. Is it at the top of my list? No. Is it number 50? No. But when the subject comes up, I think why is a very important question to ask. Why are some people gay?

This hypersensitivity to the subject is what I find insane.

Just because we think it's wrong doesn't we will kill them, beat them up, cross to the other side of the street, make gays sit at the back of the bus, take away gays' right to vote or anything else. But we can question it and voice disapproval. When we gamed together, what derogatory words did I use? Smashley can probably give you a good idea since he was at the receiving end most of the time.

I simply pointed out that congenital doesn't mean genetic like the idiot activist at the end of the article concluded. The research doesn't in any way say anything about genetic. If it was genetic, it wouldn't matter what the conditions in the womb were, it's in the genes.

Why do some people like purple and other people prefer blue?

Only an idiot doesn't ask why? Come on, everyone, who is sane, always wonders why. I ask myself that too about a lot of things and most of the time I answer myself as well. The answer is usually, who really gives a shit and do I really care about why?

I see your point about being hypersensitive but that's because the opposition is the same way. My whole point is that people should be working on a "cure" or "fix" for something the vast majority of the people would agree needs to be cured, like cancer.

Gay people pose no real threat to society. Leave the queers alone and fix the ozone, stop clearing rain forests or stop global warming.

Who's threatening gays? Most people have better things to do.

If gays are threatened by somone voicing disapproval then they had best take another prozac cause the real world's not going to conform. Gays throw just as many stones as they get. If gays (anyone) need my (other's) approval to feel good about their choice, then maybe they should reconsider their choice.

If words are bullets, then it's OK to answer words with bullets. I don't believe words are bullets.
