View Full Version : Team Fortress 2 announced
Well not really announced but brought back from the dead. I used to play Team Fortress Classic before I even played CS way back in the day. They had the second one coming out for a while but no one ever heard anything for the last 3 or 4 years.
Well the second one has been announced as a multiplayer add on with Half Life Episode 2. No pics yet just info. Anyone else used to play TFC?

I played the heck out of TFC before CS. I still jump on occassionaly just for fun. Medic conc jumping ftw!
TFC2 has been announced and canceled more times than Duke Nukem Forever. Until I see it d/ling from Steam I won't be holding my breath. You have any links to back up the rumors SNK?

Soldier Rocket Jump all the way! PWNED! Man... i think I use to play TFC more than I play CS...
I was a sick Engineer too! Man did i know gun placements that kicked ass... no one ever got my flag when i was on defense.

I really hope they balance the medic. The conc grenade should of never been given to the medic. I could kill just about anyone with it and the shotty. Conc heavies or soldiers run up and poison and then grenade as you run and they're done. Angel and I played as an engy and soldier once (she was the engy) on 2fort and nothing got through. Our team sucked and we only won because I played a scout and got a quick cap in the beginning before switching. We both had over a 100 kills and it was only a 20 minute map. Heh.
Does the medic still have that gun killer weapon? The uber nail gun? You could take a sentry down in under 2 seconds with sustained fire from that weapon alone. Especially since there is 100% accuracy with it.

I used to play it back in the quake days. It was so much fun.. I like hiding gatling guns in dark corners....lol Engineer ftw!

Best example of teamwork I ever saw was the Heavy con gerande jumpers. Medics would toss out the gerandes and the heavy's would time their jumps so that the gernade exploeded under them.
Its on IGN.com right now Thunder. THey are very credible. Check them out.

Looks like they are taking a light-hearted approach to it which is pretty cool. The first adaptation for a sequel planned back in 2001 was more serious real-world soldiers fighting and I am actually glad they scrapped that to give birth to this now.

Never played it. Played the hell outta Tribes though, which was essentially the same thing only better.

I only played the Quake1 TF. I'm not even sure if it was called TFC at the time. But yes, JB and I would play as engineers and have two gatling guns hidden in the dark corners... hahah

Sounds like everyone used to enjoy it in one way or another. Prolly a good game for everyone to join in on.
...and yeah engineer was the shit, but burning people to a crisp with the flamethrower had it's joys too.

Sniping on well6 was a blast or building a gatling gun above the main door so when they took your flag it would mow them down on the way out... lol

I still have TFC as part of my old old old CS Halflife Disk. If you had it previously and used the WONID to setup your steam account you will have it.
Currently I have just about everything Steam has to offer with the exception of the "New" games that have come out that have nothing to do with Halflife in general. There are about 3 of them.
I still have in my steam menu: Condition Zero, CS 1.6, CS Source, DoD Source, Halflife, Halflife2, Halflife Blue Shift, Team Fortress Classic, Goldeneye Source, Codename Gordon, CZ Deleted Scenes, DoD, Deathmatch Classic, HL2
Deathmatch, HL2 Lost Coast, HL Deathmatch Source, HL Source, Opposing Force, and the ever retarded Ricochet.
If you have an older game you should be able to register them all under steam without purchasing them.

The trailor simply depicts the job classes.
However if you played the first TFC you would understand the awesomeness in seeing the models the way you do. All the classes you loved are still portrayed, but there not all ass looking like the old HL engine.
It brings a small tear to your eye.

Indeed it did......I loved being a spy
