I was driving home today, and for the 1 time out 1,000 I was listening to the radio (as opposed to my iPod), when I couldnt find anything worth listening to. Not even talk radio. It was all comercials or really really bad ass rock (think Nickleback). So turnbed to the old stand by Classic Rock Station. I figured, you know, it's classic rock, they only play the good tunes that everyone remembers. Or soemtimes theyll play a Bside that not everyone recalss, but at least its Clapton, or someone I can stand.

BUT NO!! When I turned on the CLASSIC ROCK STATION I heard JOHN FUCKING MAYER????????!!!!! What the hell parallel universe am I in where John Mayer is music, let alone classic rock?

I need to find some emo kids to look at, so I feel better about my life...

The whole point of radio stations is to intoduce you to different music in the hope that you'll like it and buy it. In your case it turned you off so bad that you had to go buy music just so you wouldn't have to listen to shit music. Either way the radio is still doing it's job.

I hate radio, unless it's news, and if I'm lucky, I'll get to listen to Limbaugh and Hannity

Dude, don't even listen to the radio or watch music tv crap. I don't watch any of the celebrity shows or anything with more than passing connection to pop culture. You'll appreciate everything a lot better. You won't get burned out because they overplayed the popular songs and you'll end up with an all-around better appreciation of music. You won't know what everyone else finds cool so it won't affect your own opinion. When someone puts on a new cd, you'll either like it or not on its own merits. I get all my new music that way or through Amazon or AMG recommendations.

John Mayer is actually a great blues guitarist. Listen to his album with the John Mayer trio, though that's really not some of his best stuff. I have heard him playing with some other blues people and he was awesome

Get Satellite radio. I've had Sirius for about 8 month's and I love it. They have ton's of no commercials music stations of almost any genre, and nothings better that Howard Stern unencumbered by the fucking FCC. Even on the music stations the DJ's are more entertaining because they can throw in the occasional blue word just like we all normally do in coversation, without it being a huge social stigma. As a bonus, none of the songs are censored.

Anything gets tiresome if you overuse it... except masterbation. I don't know why but that's always fun.

get Sattelite radio!
I havent listed to regular radio wince XM-Radio first came out 4 or 5 years ago, not once.i hate the radio, its a commercial every other song it seemed and then all the stations played the same damn song!

Sat. Radio for the win accompanied by Ipod

Now I dont know which is best, xm or sirrius

I went with xm when they first ever came out cause they have 2 sattelites (named Rock and Roll) while sirius has one..there are some pros and cons, both have special STAR people like howard stern and other people, and both have certain sports advantages, like XM has EVERY FUKIN baseball game while sirius I think has more football? im not sure, but they are semi equal.

oh another thing xm has that im not sure if sirius does are portable xm radio player about the size of an ipod yuou can carry with you and listen to the music and then use them in your car or home, pretty cool.

Yea, Sirius just released their IPod type device, it works as a Sat. radio when your outside, and then seamlessly switch's to Sirius's internet feed when your inside(provided you're somewhere with wireless net access) Another cool feature is that when you hear a song that you like, you hit a button and it save's it to memory and you can access it anytime you like IPod style.
