The game itself might just be a 50 dollar BF2 mod (fug EA!), but it still might be fun for all you Battlefield fanatics out there. Get the demo here:

I've been playing all night and I'm really none too impressed. This may be a self-fulfilling prophecy as far as my feelings go but I really think this game could have been done by a talented mod team and released free of charge. It feels just like BF2 does and for a war going on almost 200 years in the future, that just shouldn't be the case. There are snipers, heavy machine gunners (only they shoot this blue shit), assault rifles, and RPGs. There is nothing new about any of the classes. The vehicles all perform just like their older counterparts in BF2 with the ONE exception of the Walker, which actually feels pretty cool when you drive it and start shooting things. It is the only vehicle that is even remotely different than the BF2 vehicles and is this game's only saving grace.
I hate to be negative but my brother has been playing it with me and we've both come to the same conclusion: Decent game but not worth the 50 dollars, because there is really nothing new. Maybe you guys will see it differently.

Wait, so no shooting around corners with assault class? No long range RPG tracking? No HOVER TANKS? Laser weaponry? No medics? Can the sniper still go invisible? I'm going to have to try this game out.
Holy shit that game is great....I cant wait for it to come out...EVERYONE DOWNLOAD THE DEMO :biggrin:

Hmmm, apparently that stuff is in the game just not in the demo. You have to unlock them. Some if it does sound pretty cool though, like the invisibility for the sniper, and the drone for the assault soldier. Maybe it's not such a bad game, just a bad demo...
Well I do plan on buying it...the unlocks seem great and lets hope the ranks are not that far away as they were in BF2. There is something very amazing about running around in a big mech and shooting at people....:lol:

I fixed the problem I was having with the demo. I was missing a D3Dx9_29.dll file that I was able to find online that was NOT part of the installation package.
EA n00bs.
I'll give you my report on the game once I've played it....

I've played quite a bit and while I like the game, it's not much different from BF2. I like the titan mode. That's about all I have.
Anyone have favorite servers and IPs they've been using?
Ive just been playing on random servers. I dont know it doesnt bother me that alot of stuff isnt different. I must say the unlocks are alot better now. There are more things to unlock then just weopans.

Yeah, I've played it a bit more too and am still undecided if I'll get it or not. Me and my brother have been playing on the Lazy Bastards server. There are a lot of good players on there and the voice over is turned on. The unlocks are the only reason I'm thinking of getting the full game but then I have to wonder why they didn't allow atleast a couple of unlocks in the demo. Seems shady to me and possibly a sign they're not implemented well or imbalanced in some way. Here's a link btw to all the unlocks in the game and descriptions of each:

well it seems pretty cool
i've only played one map and my gameplay was kind of limited. I think its a pretty awesome game thus far. I agree its not much different from BF2, but I kind of like that. I hate having to learn a game all over while people shoot my face in... being I understand how BF2 works, I was able to jump right in to the game.
now, I did only play one map, but the one thing I am hoping is that not every level has that overcast-dreary look to it. I guess it might compliment the kind of game that it is.. but it does kind of set a strange gloomy mood.
Other than that the weapons are pretty cool. I flew some kind of airplane/helicopter hybrid (so it seemed) and that was fun and successful. I've been on top of the "mech warrior" helping out the pilot.. that was pretty neat too. OH YEAH I also like how the land vehicles (I'm not sure if this applies to all) have something like a turbo boost that you can enable using the shift key :) I've already dodged many a bullet and rocket.:cool:
