I'm going to go pick up GW...again

Well, i can't find my copy of the orginal GW for the life of me. That's what happens when you move 3 times in one year i guess.

Can i pick up one of the newer releases and build up a character that way. I understand that pvp shouldn't be a problem but i like doing the quests too.

I don't really understand the concpt behind standalone expansion packs.


Which one are you guys most active in? Sense i work nights i won't be seen before midnight most days so i don't plan on getting to play with you guys on the odd weekend.

You can buy Prophecies, Factions or Nightfall (Oct 27th) and play them as stand alone. That just means you can't access content from the other expansions. You'll get 4 slots for the main game you buy. Then, if you add an expansion you would add the key and you get 2 more character slots and all your characters will have access to the full content of both games. You'll have plenty of folks to help you as well. I'm sure most of us will be getting Nightfall so you could always wait until that comes out then you'll be on the same footing as the rest of us who start new characters. Get in Vent tonight around 8:30 if you can and we'll explain more.

I just have one question.

Did they do anything with the munks to make it possible to solo? I love playing as healing/support classes but i get pissed when i can't pick up the npc helpers and knock out a quick mission.

How ironic that you would ask that. Monks are the premiere solo class right now. Missions may require a bit of tweaking but it can be done. Angel has the link, she's been soloing with her monk a lot more.

just on a side note, I want to make sure you are not making the same mistake I was with GW. You dont need the CD in order to play it. So as long as you havent removed the game from your system, you can play it all you want to.

I don't have the game installed on my new rig and i can't find the cd's. I did find a download for the game though so if my account is still active i'll be playing later tonight. I haven't logged in for over a year so i may be screwed but we'll see.

Yes, let us know. PLEASE. Our inventories are filling up. Angel's some kind of Guild Pack Rat. She keeps things like "small short stick of hitting rats" with excuses of "maybe someone just starting can use it to clean out a barn." Her characters can hardly move because of the weight. Do you know how hard it is having to walk through every mission? :biggrin:

After playing the game again i remember why i stopped playing in the first place. The missions are too long! At 3 hours a piece i just don't have the time to beat some of them.

I'm hoping things go a little smoother in the new gw otherwise i'll have to wait until the weekends to do the major missions.

Some of the missions can take that long in Prophecies but very few rarely do. It's all a matter of having a good party or not. Henchies can be used in ALL missions but it is very difficult to do so after Iron Mines (infuse mission).

If your looking to play at a faster pace Hop, go out and get Factions. The missions there are all timed and you get better rewards for completing them quickly. Most of the missions are less than 30 minutes and to gain a "masters" title you have to complete them in 20. They're still hard but a good team should have no problems.

The only time I've ever had a mission take 3 hours is when I've failed it about 50 times. :) You need a better group!

I'm more or less just killing time until the new gw comes out so no need to help me level. I'll be making a new character anyways.

I may need someone to take some of my equipment from me so i can transfer it to the new character though.

Esp in factions. Factions moves at a much faster pace
