Anybody know of a place in the area worth going to? I've got a loan check for 10k sitting in front of me. I just need to find a place to spend it.

Our good buddy, member (inactive) POOSTICK works for one of the big dealers around here. He's IT, but still, it's a good dealer. Hill Kelly Dodge is the name of the place. They have a metric shit ton of vehicles on the lot.

That sounds promising. I'll have to look that place up. I'd rather let a gng'er make a buck off of me then some random guy.

He doesn't sell cars...but he can hook you up with a sales person that's not going to rob you.

Hop, a word to the wise. (and a little NCO talking too...) Buy a used car that is reliable, don't buy a sports car. The insurance alone will kill you. 40k sounds like a lot but you can go through it fast. Spend LESS than 10k on the car. Pay it off in half the time with the money you have. Really ramp up your credit score so you will have a better chance at getting a home loan later on in life.

I'm sure you've been given the speech about TSP but I'll reenforce the point. Go here:

http://www.tsp.gov/

You want in this program yesterday. You can put up to 100% of your paycheck per month in the fund, up to 15K a year. If you want more info PM me and I'll fill you in about everything.

Bottom line, don't buy a shiny new car now, use all that extra money to build up your credit score. I'm sure Sammie and others can chime in with better advice. TSP, good. Get in, NOW.

That's actually my dream car but i'm not making enough to even consider buying one of those.

Good advice Thunder. I'm looking at 5-10 year old trucks right now. Not the most ecconomical or reliable thing i could get but i need the towing capacity for my other toys.
