save the image as either a gif or a png. This will preserve the transparency.

I think it will have to be a .gif. I dont know if CS recognizes .png.

thats how you do it my friend.

first you must create an image that contains 'transparency' ... like... make it with photoshop w/o filling in the background with any colors... comprende?
