Gurney Halleck says I hack

so I officially was accused of hacking today. Yup. I was being owned by Gurney Halleck and someone else. I went spectator and lowered my cmd and update rates so my choke/loss were at 0. then i got back in when two more people showed up. I went on to have four or five kick ass rounds, and then BAM. There comes Gurney with the accusation that i must be hacking. he said that when I left ( was in spectator mode) I downloaded a something or whatever hack, because I became bullet proof. I thought he was kididng butthen he started to say he knows my style and hes seen me do it before. I dont want that kind of stigma around me. So I told him to check to see if I was or not. He left soon after and that was that.

But now I'm wondering if there is a way that someone can check another player if we think they really are cheating. that would be an incredibly easy way to pick out the hackers, ad tell admin so they can boot them. unless you ahev to be admin to do it, in which case, we can mention a nmae to you and you can run it.

Basically I just don't want to be called a h4X0r, because I fucking hate cheaters.

Welcome to the club. When you know what your doing and your decent or good at the game prepare of accusations. Its part of being good. The only wat to tell for now if someone is hacking is through spectate or making a Demo. Slim made a few demos of a guy that showed him hacking and time to time an admin will slip off to spectate some players. Until VAC 2 comes out we just play it by eye. Dont worry about being called a hacker though. I played for 10 mins last night before my connection got all gaye and in that short time I was called a hacker.

Phenix, who gives a shit? Who the fuck is Gurney Halleck anyway? Exactly. He is a nobody. You might have played on other servers where maybe the regular pubs didnt mean much, however, thats not the case here. If I had been in the server and someone kept harassing you (or any other regular pub) you would have nothing to worry about as they would promptly be asked to stop.

There isnt really anyway for one player to see if another player is cheating or not. The only way you can come to a conclusion is by spectating on that player. Having said that... unless Counter-Strike moves to a server-side only model like EQ, WoW, etc... there will always be hacks. The client always has to process SOME information and then send it back to the server. People will continue to manipulate whatever they can to ruin the fun for others. The only suggestion I can make is to play on servers that are heavily administered (such as GNG).

Yep get used to it. I've been called a hack twice on the server now. I guess people get pissed when someone goes 19-3 with a 250 ping. :biggrin:

Does anyone have that anti-aimbot spray still? I think I may have it on Nik's computer but it's dead right now. It was the square with the three primary colors and green in four equal sized squares. You could tell if someone had an aimbot because they would snap to the box and have a hard time "looking away."

Any word on an eta for VAC 2?
