Unread threads are already in boldface...

On the old forums, it was yellow regular text for read threads and BOLD WHITE for unread threads so it stood out a little more. I'm open to suggestions especially if there is a consensus. It's very easy to make changes.

Who's online will be at the top at some point. I can't be bothered with that right now though since we are trying to get the new site up and running ASAP! =)

I can empower you guys to choose your own theme if thats something you want. But this color scheme matches the new site we're working on.

I'm not sure what you mean by full time changes but I think it's very hard to argue the fact that just about anything we come up with for the website is better than what we have now. I'll just say that the color scheme for the new site is pretty much along the same lines as this new forum skin.

I figured thats the case with most people since I have access to the web stats and can see where people enter our site and where they go. I would like to change that and make our site more relevant and useful which is the main reason I haven't changed it over yet.

So, in short, the website is coming along nicely. I just want to polish up a few things before making a switch after which I'm sure some of you will have a lot to say about it.

I agree with bizzle. I do like the idea of eventually having a way to change the skin to your preference, but would love to see the whole pacage before anything like that is implemented. And this is already waaay better than the red and grey.

No doubt, I'm all for different skins. However, right now our primary concern is getting something out the door. Once we are at the point that we are satisfied with what we have so far, then it will be up to you guys to provide feedback. After everything is said and done, we'll give you guys options for skinning the site and forums which will include the previous red/black/gray skin.

yeah, im not sure what you are getting at papa.. we need some specifics on what you are referring to so that IF we see fit to add/subtract any changes we know whats going on.. secondly, if you are referring to the fact its not a nice "cool" black theme.. if you wait, you will have that option again..

Well I finally made it back to my PC after my weekend warrior shifts.

I was surprised with a bit of change to the color of the forums. Im so used to the dark color it caught me off gaurd and I had to adjust my eyes to it. I do like the new layout however.

Im excited to see what changes are coming along since I have been staring at the same broken homepage for years.

I almost say under a new link on the main site(thegng.org) we throw out some sister servers that GNG plays in. So if someone we play with like Metalgod and others can find us in other servers if were not playing in ours.

well your choices for backgrounds are either black or white really, anything else is just weird or doesnt work well with a scheme in my opinion... The Logo is on the top just like before though, maybe you mean some more artwork on the banner like the CS before?

Well problem with just putting a CS background is the fact our GUILD as a whole is not JUST CS. We can't single out our background. Everyone plays or is currently playing many games(most).

So having just a simple 1 plain CS background doesnt work.

yeah.. its a pretty basic forum design at the moment, but animal keeps throwing sites at me for ideas.. and keeping in constant contact... i would like to change somethings about the current forum "skin" as well, consider this beta. a work in progress. thanks for the input.

Ok, but would we get a reciprocal link in return? I don't see the point of advertising others' servers for nothing. Shouldn't pubs and passers by to the website see and know how great our own server is?

It's lots of fun to play on the servers that you listed but that doesn't help our cause any. Now, I'm just as guilty of playing on those servers when ours is empty, so I don't want to imply that it should be our server or nothing.

On the flip side of that, when we get a few people on our server, it usually fills up. We need 4 or 5 GNG in the server in order to bring in more pubs. I don't expect anyone to sit on the server alone for hours waiting for pubs to join. But if you're playing on another server and you have 4 or 5 GNG on, you guys should move to our server. If it doesn't work out, you can always go back.

Zero has been my whipping boy lately adding features and stuff to our Source server in order to keep people coming back.

Hopefully with all the Source server and website changes we have been making, we can get more activity through here.
