Anything posted in these forums (under the "News" category) will appear on our home page. I encourage everyone to post relevant, informative news articles. I would like to have around 2-4 news submissions per day in order to keep our home page fresh and up to date. While I encourage everyone to post news items I would also like for everyone to keep the following things in mind when forming a news post:

Use proper grammar and punctuation. This isn't kindergarten. If you're news post doesn't look nice, it probably won't make it to the front page.
Use descriptive titles. The title you choose for your news post (thread) is the title that will appear on the home page.
Use discretion on the length of your news post. Some of the news postings we have can qualify as a short essay. You can either summarize an article and link to it or post the first paragraph or so and link to the rest of it.
Images. Images MAY be included in your news post. However, no images will appear on the home page unless you use the "insert image" (http://www.thegng.org/forums/images/midnightblue/editor/insertimage.gif) button. This requires you to have your own hosting. A special GNG ftp account may be setup for this in the future. If you want to inlcude images for others to view but do not need them displayed on the news page then include them as attachments. This does not require you to have your own hosting. vBulletin FAQ on attachments (http://www.thegng.org/forums/faq.php?faq=vb_read_and_post#faq_vb_attachment_exp lain).
Your news post will not show up right away. News post require "approval" to ensure that posts are done properly and look nice on our home page. News posts will be approved in a timely manner. If I can find some good, reliable "editors" then we can go from timely to quickly.Everyone is encouraged to post news items. Items that generate discussions are especially welcomed.

As always, if there are any questions about this please let me know.
