Steam issues

I have my rig at a temporary location to update and play, but whenever I try to update steam, it goes to 30-31% and then it stops, it doesnt freeze, but it stops. I am going to let it sit for 5 min, but after that there should be no reason why it wouldnt keep updating, Please help! I need my CS fix!!!! I am looking through Steam Forums now

Ok, I think I got it, I restored my Firewall back to default settings and reinstalled Steam, sorry guys, you are working with a Rookie/barely Novice Computer guy here....

Actually I hadnt' loaded steam in a while and had that same prob, just kept restarting it and forgot about it, it would advance slowly each time. Today it loaded all the way.
