At the weeks end, it will once again be time to bump our clocks forward into daylight saving time. Thus, raising questions such as "why?" and "what for" and more importantly, "how come". Well, I did a short search and found this resource (http://webexhibits.org/daylightsaving/b.html) because I know it's such an important subject, and we all want the real answers.
Pretty interesting, kinda, sorta, maybe, well...not really.

Apparently, it's still around because the majority of the people like it and enjoy having the extra time in the evenings. (uh...I guess, maybe, they don't want extra time in the winter?) Although, I can't think of one single person in my entire life that has told me they like DLS. As a matter of fact, from what I remember, everyone that I've ever talked to about it says it's ridiculous and wish it would cease to exist.

Although, my opinion...I like it, I just wish it would never end.

I never quite understood the whole concept of Daylight Savings myself. I knew that it had something to do with energy when it was first passed. Now, as you said, it seems that everyone wants it so they can have extra time in the evenings.

I know you live in Florida and I did too up until 3 years ago. Now I live in the midwest and I am more than happy to lose an hour in the evenings during the winter and gain an hour in the spring/summer. For the most part, Florida is beautiful all year round. That's not the case here where the winters are largely useless, especially for outdoor activities (BBQs, camping, etc).

Daylight savings pisses me off for the pure reason of fucking with my sleep schedule.

However I do enjoy the jump ahead, because I hate driving into work at 4pm and seeing that its almost dark.

I feel the same way. This seems to be such a waste of resources screwing with everyone twice a year. If everyone likes the later evenings, then leave it that way all year long.

I think daylight savings is mostly for the north. When your day is only like 6 hours long, it is nice to have part of it during a time when you are not working. But at the hight of winter, it is still not enough to make it so you see the sun, if you work normal hours. As the year progresses, that hour becomes more effective.

yeah for me, its all about daylight....

i think people are much happier, in general, with daylight, as opposed to night time.

when i was a kid growing up, i loved to be able to play outside until it was 8, 9, 10 pm... versus the winter when it got dark around 4,5,6 pm.. .

So, I guess when they changed the date for Daylight Saving, they didn't make any adjustments for our software. Soo, does that mean that when my PC tells me it's time for Daylight Saving, I'm going to have to roll back my clock since I had to set it manually?

I know this is of the utmost importance, so prompt replies would be extremely helpful, as this matter is time sensitive. Yuk yuk yuk yUK
