LotR Weekend

Just finished a weekend of playing LotR. I would like to welcome two new members to our Kinship.

MF, Zzala, Rasta and myself, got a group to do one of the more difficult missions. Our two new members are the ones that joined us for the adventure. This was a dungon crawl, just the way you would expect it. The respawn rate is low, enabling the clearing of the instance. We were unable to clear it, as we were learning and exploring .... and diing now and again.

I got to say I had a really great time. The group game play of LotR is very tight, with everyone having their task to do. The Fellowship manuvers are really cool as well, with stomping red demond things coming to your aid.

The group of us are just at a level where we can do some of the more scary things and live.

Yes Bizzle, and I am loving it. But I have not the same bug as MF, he is really hooked. The emerssion of the MMORPG is hard to resist. Specially when you have a group of buddies to game with.

Yes Thunder, thanks for calling me out on the missing names.

I will make it a point of writing them down and posting the names when I anounce new members. Raffe has a friend that joined with him ... Koss?

Rastamon(sp) was the first to join us. There is one other but I have not gamed with him enough to remember the name yet.

For me it is very hard to remember names when I only see them once. I will try and put extra effort into the introductions from now on.

The other members name is Gecko, but now that I type it, it still looks like I spelled it wrong.

Ghecko isn't in our kinship just yet. We're trying to pressure him into leaving his current, since they're never on, and he always groups with us.

And yet another GREAT weekend in LotR.

As a group we managed to do a couple of rather challenging quests back down into the Great Barrows. There were a number of nasty bad guys down there which we got the best of. After 5 tries, we figgured out how to beat this one guy who had 3 spawns of helpers. We got the two key halfs which turned out to be the full key to areas that were locked. Then the next quest sent us into the locked areas.

The member types and actions of the members are critical to success. Specially when the mission you are doing is close to the edge of your abilities. We had grouped with a couple that were rather random in what they did. We died during one of those times and after that we cut them loose from the group. Other than that we had a great time with good loot and lots of action.

We finally pinned a tag on Ghecko. He surprised me by showing up without a tag the other evening. I'll have to remind him to come check out the forums.

I'm looking forward to another weekend of gaming. UMMMMMM FORNOST
