Any opinions?
Getting one for myself to do work in photoshop and such. Haven't ordered it yet tho. I'd get the smaller 4x6 model but its apparently formatted specifically for wide screens.

Looking for some more-in-depth reporting.
So far I've got "wicked" used as a descriptive term which would be about right. Do i have a awesome? Maybe a HORRIBLE! ... Maybe a "buy a pen and paper and get a scanner". How about a "that looks like a pretty good deal, you should do that!". Looking for support here, lol. To justify a purchase of that nature is not something light, it means money.. it means time.. it means a investment.
Maybe sammie will buy it for me?
How about this, for every 300 dollars you spend on me sammie I promise to complete 1 semester of a college course.

Google it. I wish I could give advice but I have never used one of those or anything similar. Just remember, if you don't like it you can always resell it. You will lose some money but it's not like you don't have a way out. If it's something you're interested definitely pick one up.

Googled it already... quotes of "its awesome!" always come about - the intious is better than the graphire and I wanted something that would last. But yeah... it has been purchased.. as for the google-it comments, I had and they always say great, was more concidering anyone who's used the different models. :P

Nimmy, if you find that you do a lot of free hand drawing or enjoy doing alot of sketches you'll like a wacom. They also help for schematics since you can do measurements a bit easier. We had them at our shop at Spangdahlem and most of the graphics folks used them for any project they could. It's really a matter of preference I would say. Any good graphics artist can do work in photoshop just as well with wacom as they can with a mouse and keyboard. However, I've only used a Wacom twice; so my opinion is not as informed as it could be.

Yep yep, this one program i need to use it in uses like a JAVA applet or something weird and the wacom doesnt want to work in the program ... low support in the program tho so thats ok... So far its treated me well.

im considering plunking down a fair amount for a nice tablet pc. i think it would be perfect for the ungodly amount of sketches i will have to do next quarter.

It is a intollerable and useless piece of technology. Someone here mentioned that any good person can do just as good with a mouse as they would a wacom - that statement is somewhat true. The only thing the wacom does help with are brush strokes and actual detail-oriented work which can be acheived using tricks and gizmos probably. But I don't think it was worth it.
Paid 250, selling it for 200 ;) .. Made 50 bucks in the meantime with it but the cash-flow from using it is way to slow concidering the learning time, I'd be better off sticking to the basics so I don't have to switch back and forth.... between my mouse and the wacom.
