this is pretty damn amazing...... I've been seeing the previews for this on the history channel.......... I would personally piss my pants if I was driving an 18 wheeler over some ice and it decided to cave in on me

I guess I never really considered this amazing, because living in the north, ice fishing and ice racing are normal. Can you imagin putting spikes on your moto-X bike tires and racing on ice on the same ovel track as many others??
In the case of the Ice trucking, it is pritty cool what they get involved in ... the Tech used to implement. But with global warming, there was some problems this and in past years with the fact that things do not freeze at the same time nor as much as they use to.

Its hard for us people south of the (Canadian) border to fathom just how snowy/icy it gets up there.
I think you would get a kick out of what people do around here, Sckoarn. I dont know if you ever lived in the 'states' but when even a very small thin sheet of ice or snow hits the ground... suddenly everyone sucks at driving. I actually really enjoy driving in the snow myself, but I try to avoid it because other people just dont know how to handle it.

I've always lived in Arizona, so having my buddy tell me he wants me to drive his rear-wheel drive f-150 down the i-45 on the coldest day of the year in houston when my stairwell's steps/railings where completely frozen.... wasn't the most appealing prospect. He gave me a crash course in steering and catching yourself out of a spin. I almost spun once, went sliding the whole way and I was being escorted with cops on my side... lol.... 4 in the morning was a stupid time to try that, lol.
So I'm back in arizona and I'm staying away from the cold, screw spikes and chains and getting stuck in ditches... I've been back in Arizona for 2 or so months now and its been cloudy 4-5 days and has rained none. Booya!
I have to give them major credit tho.

I cant remember where I read about ice truckers, I think it was the Guy's Bible(AKA MAXIM magazine) but there was a really indepth story about it, and on one of the major companies.
You pretty much have to use the bathroom while you are moving because its too damn cold to get out of the truck for too long and a kind of sad part about the owners son who died saving one of the other truckers from drowning. They make bank from those trips, but I wouldnt dare call that easy money:neutral:
