Dude, you've been here for how many years and nobody has ever known that stuff? That's pretty cool.

I've always wanted to jump out of a plane. With a chute, that is.
How long have you been jumping Roacha?

I've been skydiving for about 3 years. The 1st time I went, I did a tandem jump with a jumpmaster strapped to my ass in case I blacked out or some shit. No blackout happened, so from then on I could skip the having a man strapped to me in doggystyle hump position. You really should try it, it's a friggin' blast. The 1st few jumps you make, you won't really be comfortable enough to really look around while freefalling but once your chute is deployed and you've identified where the landing zone is, you'll have fun just driving yourself around and getting upwind of the LZ. You'll freak out at how the more experienced jumpers come in for a landing. They usually like to do a severe turn right before landing that makes for a really high speed then stop maneuver. It's loads of fun.
Just to make it easy for you, I even found a link to your local LZ: http://www.1800skyride.com/Skydiving/SouthCarolina/index.html

The first time I did freefall without being hooked to someone, it was fuckin' amazing when I deployed my chute and the two jumpmasters who were with me looked like they'd been shot out of a cannon downward. You really don't have any sense of speed when you're falling from a mile high.

JB I'll jump with you but I dont think we can talk mark into it. He has never been interested and I have asked several times.
Let's do it! I've always wanted to.
Thanks for the link Roacha

A video of the event will be expected,,,,,,,I would show mine, but at the time I cheaped out and didn't pay for one. I do have a nifty little certificate to memorialize the 1st unhooked freefall, and after looking at it,,,,,,I now realize I've been jumping for 5 years. I did a static line jump with the girlfriend I had at the time in California in the early 80's, but having done all three methods of hoppin' outta planes, I gotta say, either tandem or AFF is the way to go.

That's a pretty bad ass aquarium...the whole deal is pretty friggin sweet.
I'll have to take some pics of some of the reef tanks that I work on. These days, it's pretty simple to have a nice salt water aquarium. It's more of a cost issue rather than a "science" these days. I'm really looking forward to setting up my own system. I found out yesterday that our company just took down a system that wasn't wanted by the customer anymore. (mmm...free stuff!)
I wouldn't mind seeing your tank Roach. I'll probably be hitting you up for advice sooner or later. I'm still learning about this stuff. It's really fascinating to me. Litterally having a micro ecosystem inside a box is just friggin cool.
For those of you that don't know...modern day salt water (marine) aquariums (good ones) really are micro ecosystems. Starting from bacteria, all the way up the food chain.
Today, I'll be working on a 500 gallon, a 250 gallon that we just installed, and a 1500 gallon (at Jerry Jones' of the Dallas Cowboys) and an 11,000 gallon at the Bass Pro Shops. I doubt I'll get a pic of Jerry Jones tank. His house is such a pain in the ass. It makes me happy I'm not a multi-millionair. I couldn't handle having a house on the beach, that had a floor where you couldn't get salt water on. It's a real pain in the ass when we have to dive it.

My Batteries were pretty dead, so the couple pics of the 11,000 gallon at Bass Pro Shops didn't come out.
To give you an idea, the ladder in the one pic is ten feet tall. For all you football fans, that's Jerry Jones' house in Destin FL. And, for the record, I haven't met him, but his daughter is super-model hotness. :p
The other pic, the old dude is about 5'10" tall.
I start my dive training this week, so I can dive the big ones (like the one with the ladder).
