PS3 Getting a Possible $100 Price Cut July 15th

According to a poster on the DVD Talk Forums, the Circuit City promotional sales flyer for the week of July 15th indicates the PLAYSTATION 3 will be getting a price drop. The PS3 is now listed at $499 for the week of July 15-21, the week after E3 2007. This should be considered rumor for now until we receive confirmation from Sony, but I'm guessing we'll hear more about this at next week's E3 press conference.

I bought my PS3 for the full price it was asking.

Its deff worth it even at a 100 price cut.

I dont know if they are allowed to do this or not... but if -I- were a manager at circuit city, and I could drop the price $100 without Sony's concent... I sure as hell would do it.

I bet they buy the systems at roughly $100 a system from Sony and then mark it up accordingly. If only circuit city was selling their systems for $499 while everyone else was selling for $599... they would surely sell a lot.

L1ve... I have to ask you what games you have been playing on the PS3. I havent been following it much, but I have heard that there just isnt a very large following for making games for the PS3... at least not in comparison to the other systems. I still have a PS1 and a PS2, but I'm still not quite sure about the PS3 yet...........

This has just been confirmed by Sony btw and is no longer a rumor. They are also introducing a new 80 GB model with some game for $599.

I'm not Live, nor do I have a PS3 (so stfu already right?) Buuuut I've seen a lot of new titles that are coming out recently like medal of honor airborne (really cool concept). Not to mention MGS4 will be on that shiet and I feel as if the PS3 in the end will kick some ass. Sony needs to get on the ball about the online stuff and their game deals though.
