I didn't even see this post until this morning. Hell yeah, we are giving it a try. So far so good. I think I have reached level 11, human captain I think it is. Pretty interesting. Neb is a lore-master?? I think. and together we do some damage. Plan to play more today. JB is still in town so thats where our attention has been.
.oO and thanks to Zzala again for the trial keys.

LOTR is a pretty good game. I got hooked on EQ2 now and decided against LOTR. Nothing against the game, it just wasnt my cup o tea. But then again thats why they make 10000 games a year.

People still play EQ2? No sarcasm here but I thought that game was a sinking ship.

No, with three expansions it actually has a player base ALMOST as big as WOW still does. That I do not get, WOW is a fun game, but its the same shit every toon you play.. Shit got old fast again. I might go back just to stick a finger in my ass, but I doubt it.
PS- EQ2 is 1 month older then wow.. Not that old..

so that is where you have been?

Yeah, EQ2. I was trying to do CS once I got my new comp.. But no one was ever on..

I never implied that EQ2 was old. I played it since release and made it to 20 with a warrior then I just stopped cold... the game got real boring and it was the same old shit... wait an hour or so for a group then finally get one... then it turns out they are all a bunch of snot nosed bitches, no one accomplishes anything, group disbands... rinse and repeat.
At least with WoW, I have the option of playing solo if I want to. The only thing that isn't accessible are some dungeons and even those become accessible when you level up.
I am not going to lie. EQ2 is a VAST improvement over the original EQ. However, the problem that plagues it, and all other MMORPGs, is the group dependancy thing. Sometimes, people don't want to or can't group and you shouldn't be penalized so harshly for that.

I gave the EQ2 trial a shot but it really ran like crap on my system. Couldn't understand it really since my rig should've been able to handle it. :frown:

AHh, Was hoping I'd get to game with you guys. Maybe this week. Wednesday is our designated "alt" night, but as I told Neb, I'm more than willing to help you guys out any time.

Awesome. I plan to get some time in today. I really want to play as much as I can with the trial before I make a purchase. We have until Thursday I believe. Once our trial is up can I just order it and continue playing. The reason I ask is because I couldn't order a copy online and download it. It wanted to ship me a boxed copy.

Even with Beta they made you purchase a boxed version. I did not re-instal, only thing I got from the box was the key.

So I'm going to have to wait for my boxed copy to continue my game when the trial expires? boooo
With wow I just bought everything online.

They actually fixed most the things that made me NOT play EQ2 on launch. I can solo just about anything I want. They made it so its totally not dependant on grouping. I do heritage quests Doed all the time. Once in a while you might need a 3rd or 4th, but almost never.

Sylver,
You can't just go to a store and pick it up? Hence no waiting.

WOAH
-I- didnt see this thread until today... and I was even on the forums yesterday looking around being like 'man.. why is no one posting anything new' =P
anyhow.. yeah picking up LOTR. It seems pretty cool. I dropped my Lore-Master though for a bit more of a Melee character (Elf Champion). I played a Mage in WoW and I'm kind of tired of the whole caster/support role... I like to get right in the action sometimes and just kick some ass that way.
I dont know about you guys though.. but I find the quest directions to be pretty hard to follow. "This guy is across the stream to the north west in the most southen part of the north city which lays north of here but the most west part of that north city where at the bottom of the upper most staircase that spirals around the foundation in which the city was built on."
I heard talk about a site that may be helpful, kind of like guildwiki or thottbot where you can perhaps look up the locations of quests and such?

hahahah, great, that looks like some of the quests I have done. I feel ya on that one.. that's too funny.

Anyone know the site that Karich was telling me about? I meant to ask yesterday.
I did find this site Neb, http://lotro.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Quest It atleast points you where ya suppose to go. Might just be what you/me need when in need of help.

sweet, I'll have to check it out.
there seems to be a 'wiki' for everything nowadays.
Phenix

LORE BOOK (http://lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/Lorebook_home)
that is the official wiki. I don't think it's editable by players yet (it's still in beta I think) but it will be eventually. It's like thottbot but run by the company instead of by random people.

So Phenix are you playing?
okay so I didn't make it last night. I plan to play tonight since my cash flow is a little on the tizzzight side. Hope to see you all there.

Naw man. Not coming back for now at the least. IUt was fun but again to time consuming for me right now.

yeah, I'm not too sure. The game was cool and fun, but just reminded me of WoW all over again (yet, I was less familiar with what to do.. which frustrated me)
besides I still have my WoW account and I'm not sure if I'm going to delete it or not, and furthermore.. if I dont delete it... I'm not sure I want to pay TWO monthly fees :doubt:
I do definitely appreciate the trial code though Zzala, and the help everyone gave us for the period of time we did play. Maybe we'll catch you guys a little further up the road.
