John Kanzius has found a way to burn salt water with the same radio wave machine he is using to kill cancer cells.

Kanzius was testing his external radio-wave generator to see if it could desalinate salt water, and the water ignited. A university chemist determined that the process is generating hydrogen, which can be burned as fuel.

While the phenomenon is interesting, it is not yet practical for energy generation. More energy is consumed by the radio frequency device than is produced for burning. Efficiency-wise, they are presently at around 76 percent of Faraday's theoretical limit. (Other Hydrogen-from-Water methods, such as the one being pursued by Bob Boyce (http://freeenergynews.com/Directory/Transportation/Bob_Boyce/), are approaching 7x).

Kanzius says if someone wants to buy up the rights to the technology, that would be fine. He would use the funds to finance his quest to cure cancer.

--- Does that mean it'll start your cells on fire?

And does that mean you can aim it at the ocean? Easy way to blow up ships perhaps?

That is awesome

I'm thinking more in the way of fuel and all of that. There is pretty much an unlimited amount of Salt Water for us to 'burn' as a means of energy.

Of course some people would debate that and say we only have

34,897,239,847,238,947,238,947,238,974 gallons to burn...but yeah.

Reminds me of this guy.

The guy seemed to have solved the efficency issue as far as the amount energy it took to split H2O.

It's a old thread but a good one.

The last half of Mr.3043's initial post sort of explains why non petrol fuel sources are bad for the global economy. As the need for oil decreases, so the price. As the price of oil decreases, so the does the value of the money backed by said oil. Let's here it for soft currency.
