Photoshop product manager John Knack has been hinting for some time that Photoshop was overdue for a major overhaul. Apparently the next version will be the one to get it (http://crave.cnet.com/8301-1_105-9811974-1.html).
Adobe's experience with its successful new Lightroom is shaping its vision for a task-oriented approach. For those who've been scared off the "task-oriented" UIs by various MS products can relax. Lightroom gets it right. Let's hope they can reimagine Photoshop's many elements into a cohesive new UI.
