TF2 Server #2 Up!

Since our TF2 server is pretty much full all of the time we figured it was probably safe to setup a second server. It was full for most of its first evening along with the first server, so that's a good sign.

You can find server #2 at tf2server2.thegng.org:27015 ( 8.12.18.164:27015 ). It's currently setup as a 24/7 Dustbowl and Gravelpit server for now. Hope to see you there!

Well don't get too attached to that IP address. The performance issues from last night seemed to be cause by our install of TF2 for whatever reason, coupled with lesser hardware than what server #1 is on. So they offered to move our server 2 to a box with similar hardware, but it will give us a different IP address. I figure it's better to move it now after it's been up 1 day versus many months.

They reinstalled server 2 for us on better hardware, so hopefully that will resolve the performance problems. I'll get it configured as soon as I can and it should be good to go this evening. And I edited my first post so it shows up properly on the front page.

I made 2 new DNS entries for the servers since they're easier to remember than IPs. They are:
Server #1 - tf2server1.thegng.org
Server #2 - tf2server2.thegng.org

Except they didn't mount the right goddamn directory for FTP again, so I can't configure it until they fix that now!!:evil::evil:

Well they finally finished my support ticket after about 2 1/2 hours. Server 2 is up and configured now, so everyone fill it up!
