Hey guys,

For some TF2 is a simple shoot'em up.

For others like me, its all about strat. (Skill sold seperately)

Anyways, I was wondering if we could set up a time or just a few ppl get together when one of the servers is empty and test a few theories out...

IE. Can a Uber Heavy kill a lvl 3 SG when there is 2 dispensers on 1 Eng/ or 1 dispenser with 2 eng?/ or 2 dispensers with 2 eng?/ or two seperate SGs?

Dmg increase of Crits...

Dmg per body part...

Radius of Dmg per grenade / sticky / rocket

... etc...

or we can have a teach people rocket jumping session, and other useful tests for what ever people (especially newer players to TF2) are curious about.

it wouldn't take too much time or too many ppl to do... but I'm just throwing the idea out there cause I'm definitely interested...

Steam was actually giving advanced training in all classes but I can't find the page now where it was posted! If I can find it I'll post it here...maybe that will help with a few tips.

I personally feel that practice in no way prepares you for the chaos of battle. Knowing things like how to rocket jump can definitely mean the difference between winning and loosing sure, but that sort of skill I would consider basic and most people should be able to pick up while learning the game.

However, knowing little things like how many stickies do you need to kill a level 3 sg can be useful. Another example I happened to test out is can you use an enemies teleporter as a spy? The answer: no, no you cant.

As far as damage goes, people have already took the trouble to make charts. Although I haven't found one that explicitly states how much more a crit does it gives a range for every weapon and can be found here:

Anyways I'd be game for a couple of sessions, but I feel doing it regularly would not show any significant results compared to just playing regular games.

Agreed, I definitely do not mean it to be a regular thing... just as long as there is interest in things to be tested within the GNG community that ppl should help others figure things out.

and I too would like to know how many stickies it takes or even if its not dead on the SG etc...

Most of these tests wouldn't take more than 5 min each...

From my "research" it takes 4 - 6 stickies. But yes I think it can be a good idea. One thing some people don't know is the layout of the side tunnels and hallways of each map. Also, Hydro can be a pain if you don't know what maps will be connect next.
