I came across this map today on some server. Im usually not a big fan of custom maps. Like any other custom map it's not perfect but was better then most. You guys might want to check it out.

Sounds like an interesting twist on a ctf map
Sneak into the enemy base, steal their intelligence, and run it to their gas chamber. Doing so will result in the deadly gas being released into the enemy base and killing anyone not in the saftey rooms.
Anyone want this added to server 1 to play with?

Sounds like fun. TFC had a map with a very similar concept.
On the subject of new custom maps, I found a pretty good one in my travels as well...

flood zone isnt all that good. all it is is a sniper & spy fest and usually ends up with both teams stuck trying to get the middle point. then once that point is taken the game is pretty much over. that gas one looks pretty tight though, I'd like to try it out.

I added the gas kaboom map to Server 1 so you guys can try it out. If it's any good maybe I can swap out Beach, people don't seem to care for that map much.

i havent played that kaboom map on the gng server yet. the time i played on some other server was pretty good, because there are places where you can setup decent defenses and it seemed pretty balanced among most classes. plus the map changes as it goes along, and the gas room.
I'm weary of TF2 and Source's files... As most of you regulars know... my game crashes at times... and had to have ppl kick others to get me back in...
Personally, I'd love to try out new maps and would have no problems d/ling it from server just cause I'm no wiz at the whole game file placement and modding anymore like I was back in the Q2 days..
And No, beach isn't that great... good snipe practice and fun to run a SG into blue's area but thats about it.

I like beach but it needs some work and some balancing issues. Spawn time is a big problem right now. My experience with TFC and the Gas Chamber maps (and this is without playing the new one) was that they can turn into a giant turtle fest and can end up clearing a server quite quickly. However, there was no uber or cloaking in TFC so that changes alot of the tactics. I'll have to hop on and switch the map to see. Overall the map can be lots of fun (the old one) because there were lots of jobs to do. Defense and offense were a solid split. Spies could of the run of the place if they knew all the nooks and cranies to sneak into. Snipers could cover the long hallways but had to watch the flank. I'll try it when I can.

The problem with beach is that the defending team realizes fairly quickly that spawn camping is not only viable but also low-risk high-reward. Thus it becomes the dominant strategy, and it is so overpowering that the game becomes unfun for the campers as well as for the poor souls who can't even walk 10 feet out of the gate.
Plus, do we really need to play another Normandy map?
I think that map would be much better if you can tweek it's spawn times or something... otherwise I haven't seen THAT bad of a spawn camp... that you can't deal with at all... etc.
