A number of FiOS customers in our forums have been complaining that their Actiontec MI424-WR routers have developed a mind of their own, and enjoy rebooting themselves periodically for absolutely no reason. According to these (http://thegng.org/forum/r19689130-) two (http://thegng.org/forum/r19690897-) user threads, some bugs plague the current firmware forcing periodic reboots, and Verizon is in the process of rectifying the issue. Says one user:I just got a new router and it was STILL rebooting every few minutes or so. The CSR I spoke with on Christmas Eve, immediately stated that there is a now known issue with some of the Actiontec routers with the 4.0.16.1.55.xxxxxx firmware. They emailed me a newer firmware with a 56 in place of the 55 and the router hasn't rebooted yet.
Judging from user posts, a new 10.7 BHR firmware update is apparently being released to users once they call in to report problems. An official copy of the firmware should be posted to the Verizon website before too long, but impacted users who can't wait can grab a copy of the firmware here (http://thegng.org/r0/download/1256282~9f9f12cc2d55bd8614bbe3e8cacd66a1/4.0.16.1.56.0.10.7-MI424WR.rmt.zip).
