Jin Roh : Little Red Ridding hood told in a very twisted manner
Perfect Blue : This was a very good movie, very fucked up.

Most of those are older, although I loved Jin Roh...
*Devil May Cry - Sort of like Hellsing.
*Naruto Shippuden
*Bleach - Never have understood why they named it that.
*Claymore - (love it).. Great series, finishes/runs well, lots of blood and gore, pain and anguish.. yet you still turn it on again and again. Until you get to the end of the series.. the last 3-4 episodes turned into a giant sailor moon fight. Hell, I didn't even really watch them fully.. too painful.
*Death Note - the series is finished, it was great.
*B.L.O.O.D (havent found many of this series, but..)
*Ebichu - I watched this when I was younger, adult oriented kid-style anime. Sort of like a adult dilbert.
*Princess Mononoke/Luputa, castle in the sky/I'd even go as far to say toro toro - the movies are great from this guy.
*Avatar - Although it doesnt fall in the catagory of anime, it still has a feeling as if it was dubbed by stupid things they say... but its good.
--
*Darker Than Black - Sort of a confusing anime but its good.
*Ayashi No Ceres - Do not watch this - but every once in a while sailor moon falls and dies in a bloody mess.
*Millenium Actress - Good movie.
I don't watch the Adult Swim versions of any of these if they're aired there, so any comments are for the subbed versions. They're typically better 95% of the time.
Naruto - Great until the fillers, then it's just painful to watch
Naruto Shippuden - fast forward to the good story arcs, very cool
Bleach - Good series, fillers not as bad as Naruto's but they do get old after awhile
Fullmetal Alchemist - Outstanding series
Ergo Proxy - Psychological, kinda out there but very good, and pretty to watch ( My avatar is the main character)
Black Lagoon - Very cool, lots of guns and blood
Death Note - Agreed, Awesome series that's more dialog than action, but very suspenseful
Ghost In the Shell - All of the movies and both seasons of GITS are really good
Elfen Lied - Short little series, pretty bloody, girl causes chaos, what's not to like
Samurai Champloo - Very good, sort of reminds me of Cowboy Bebop in fudal Japan
Darker Than Black - Good series, "Contractors" with special powers

I forgot about Black Lagoon. It was good, complete... had a relentlessly loving killer girl in it who spoke english like a thai hooker. How can anyone ever call that a bad series? lol....
But I always thought the naruto fillers where better than bleach. Bleach is ok but when they go to filler stuff I start skipping sections. I actually do that when there's action too.... Overall its a ok series but it seems lacking. The multible levels of detail in it are to vague and unspecified... I can't put my finger on it, but the characters just aren't complete characters, they don't develop properly...
How about a big dur.

Oh, and if you find the subbed versions. Maybe Blue Gender... Although its such a dramatic/saddish type of anime I have nothing but a nasty taste in my mouth about it. Can't even remember if its good or not.

I recently picked up on a series called "Wolfs Rain". I'm working volume 2 of 2 right now. It's has a rather original story line that is very different from most other anime that I have seen. No gaint robots or uber ninjas. It's about wolves that use magic to appear human which allows them to move about in society. It's worth checking out if you are in the mood for something a little more dramatic.
http://wolfsrain.org/ This should be a nice looking site when it is finished
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolf's_Rain Beware of spoilers.
Oh yeah.... Can't forget "Robotech"! Who doesn't want a Veritech.
Then there is "Voltron" of course. But it has to be the lions, which is #2 of the 3 Voltrons
"Battle of the planets" that one goes way back.... is my age showing?
