MuniWireless.com did well for itself in 2007, establishing the site as a major provider of news about citywide wireless networks. They have been reporting on the topic all year long and have just posted (http://www.muniwireless.com/article/articleview/6683/1/2) what they believe to be the top five stories on the issue for the past year. Interestingly, number one on the list was iPhone (http://www.dslreports.com/shownews/89806) news which they argue will drive increased demand for wireless connectivity in all cities. Another top story was the comparison between three different models of municipal Wi-Fi which are currently being tested out. This goes hand-in-hand with the story of the failed model which caused EarthLink (http://www.dslreports.com/shownews/89553) to head out of this market.
