Well I bought a new tv today, 42in. plasma. Two new games for my ps3... came home and started playing 'Dirt'.... next thing ya know my ps3 blows up. i was piiiiiissssseeeeed. it was as i was racing my first race and getting all excited about the game and blah blah... boom, dead. so now i have to wait for a box and send the shit in, then wait another like million years for sony to send it back.. awesome. anyways lets just say im drinking the rest of my crown royal tonight... fucking sony...


PS: even though it blew up i would still never buy a 360... so dont even try SNK.. hahah

Nah,,,,sony's practices kinda piss me off.........I own a Sony 46" Bravia LCD, but have a Toshiba HD DVD player hooked to it......and I have a Vizeo 26" LCD with a XBOX 360 hooked to it.........(basically means HD DVD players hooked to both TV's.........

Well,,,,,,,,,1st off,,,,,,blue ray and HD DVD are pretty much visually identical,,,,,,,so that's not why I make my choices,,,,,,,and I'm sure sony hates xbox because microsoft has sided with Toshiba on the HD format war........

As for why I chose HD DVD over blueray is mostly because Toshiba came down to a reasonable price on it's players long before Sony did,,,,,,so I hope that HD DVD prevails, so my money spent on players and movies isn't wasted........

I went shopping the day after Christmas. No Wii's or 360's on the shelves but lots of PS3's. I have nothing against Sony and I am most certainly not a Microsoft "fanboy" but the 360 has got to be the best system out for hardcore gamers.

Yeah....I think Sony needs to do something great in order to see a rise in sales....like making sure MGS3 and the final fantasy series remain exclusive to PS3.

A friend of mine (note: a techy friend who thinks he knows more than he does yet does indeed know a bit) said that the PS3 is a bitch to program by game designers while the 360 is much much easier and this has led to games being designed more willfully for the 360 while designers practically have to be coerced with incentives to make the game for the PS3.

Backtrack to N64 and Playstation (original)... I think the SNES was around for the beginning half of playstation also....

The thing that always got me, was I sat down to play a playstation game and you put in the cd - and you have memory cards that you store info on. The game loads, lacks real comfort... and it feels "linear"... even tho I don't know the proper usage of that word - I think thats the right one.

Flat, like the cd it uses.

Yet N64 and other console systems incorporated things OTHER than cd's and you didn't need memory cards, the game normally stored information - and you had mortal combat, and starfox... Smash brothers, those good games people actually - talk about.

Then PS2 comes out - and yay? It plays dvd's? .. or something... Still cd's... have computer, why buy a ps2? And now ps3, which is just plain un-interesting. As for the 360, its lame - because they didnt even think of a new name, they just added 360 - which is why I never got one. I always thought of it as past technology.

But I do honestly believe the Wii owns all.

There are a few reasons for the lack of games on the PS3:

1. Games are harder to program for. Microsoft has there titles built on a programmers level for there own PC standards. Its easy for programmers to work with something that is familiar. PS3 is a new coding system thats pretty fucked up, but there getting the programming packages out there and sending people to these companies and showing them how to program for it.

2. The 360 has had a head start it in the system release so there are going to be way more titles than the PS3.

3. Microsoft has pulled so many games and exclusives out from under Sony its not even funny. The PS3 itself is pretty expensive to manufacture and there putting it out there with some money loss, but cant afford to put the price tags down old Bill is throwing around for the titles he is bidding into.

4. Some of the PS3 games are taking some time to put together due to the depth of the game itself. Heavenly sword for example has so much coding on the disk itself its not even funny. I believe half of the blu ray disk is just sound alone.


Sony has never dissapointed in what it offers to there customers. Sure the games are slowly coming out, but the titles they offer are fucking amazing and the titles coming out are going to be fucking amazing.

I can't understand why some of you still believe that the PS3 is a better system. Even though it is your opinion, surely you have some reason(s) why you feel that way.

For me, the Xbox is the way to go. I gave sales figures that show A LOT of people feel the same way. Why is the 360 the bomb?

1) Microsoft - The company everyone loves to hate. As L1ve said, they have the money, power and, now, the user base to pull all the greatest exclusive titles away from Sony.

2) Xbox Live - Best online service of any of the consoles. I only expect it to get better.

3) I just love all the accessories and the way the 360 connects to your network so you can play music, videos and pictures from computers.

I won't say that I won't ever get a PS3. But there is no compelling reason to buy one right now. Most of the good games are available on the 360 as well.

I own a wii and a 360... and wouldn't buy a PS3 for anything. The thing that pisses me off most about PS3 is that becasue of that douche of a system... GTA4 had to be postponed because the developpers for PS3 were no where close to be done. (Mind you this gives the 360 team more time to develop the exclusive content for 360 so there is a positive)
Another problem is the stupidity of prices for the PS3... and i'm not talking about the console, but the games. I'm Canadian so NHL is big game for me, as Madden is to you (I do play madden) and can some please tell me why I should buy a PS3 to buy one of those games at $10 more then the 360 and have to deal with all the framerate issues that can be seen in the PS3 version.

Also... Blu-ray may have won the format war because i believe Warner brothers just confrimed that they will be going blu-ray exclusive on June 1

Yeah i just got an xbox last week, its ONLY locked up 4 times! hahahahaahha But it is still fun to play, looks pretty too, graffix wise, a step or 10 better than my wii, but the wii is fun in itself.

Yea,,,,that really sucks for me........I've spent the last year watching HD DVD's because when I bought my Xbox360 last year, I bought the add on HD DVD player with it since you couldn't touch a player of either format for close to what the add on costs. Well this year I bought my brother a HD DVD player for Christmas and since it was fairly affordable I picked one up for myself also, that way I have one for the 26" HDTV in my room that the 360's hooked to, and I have the real player hooked to the 46" HDTV in the living room. Well, I've owned the new player for like a month, and in that month it's come out that Warner is going exclusively Blu Ray and today I read that Paramount might follow suit........I'm starting to feel that betamax ass burn coming on............

The most fucked up thing is that if these asshole studio's knew they were going to jump ship,,,,,, they should have done it before the holiday buying frenzy.......imagine how many HD DVD players were given as gifts that are soon to be worthless piles of crap..........I'm no Sony fan, but Warner and Paramount might have just jumped to the front of the line of POS companies.

Back when I used to play this game, they had a expansion come out that was long awaited/advertised/pushed off over and over. They tryed their best to make everyone WANT and feel they needed it. Then when they released it they slowly dismantled the machine called their company waiting for sales to come in on a incomplete expansion... Which seems the way to go most of the time, which is why blueray is going to die. Way too mcuh advertising for them, like they want to unload as much as they can.

I don't know blueray that well, its sort of like they're feeding us lines...

The PS3 is built for the next decade, if you notice the shit that they have put into the PS3 you can tell this console is way ahead of it's time.

I believe Sony should have launched their console for this Christmas rather than last.

The PS2 died earlier than it should have, they are still making new games, games that contest the Wii, and the first gen of Xbox 360 games. They could have made the Xbox 360 have the same fate as the Dreamcast.

These games take advantage of the sixaxis, and there are even some games out there like Flow, which can only be controlled by the sixaxis feature, and it works wonderfully, just like the Wii remote.

I have always trusted Sony, shit I remember when I was really young, my parents bought a Betamax, and I used to use it to record my cartoons. The picture was always clearer on the Betamax, but I never understood why...

oh btw, uncharted looks fucking amazing and is a really well rounded game. i recommend it to any ps3 owner... and the sixaxis is money (tuck haha) and really comes out in that game.
