OK, so if any of you are following politics you know that the caucuses are going on now and i was talking with a friend because I do not understand something.
:question:1) The caucuses decides which candidate the 2 parties will pick correct?
:question:2) Why are there only a few caucuses? Shouldn't more people be involved with the choosing of the candidates? like, why do 5 caucuses get to choose what 50 states worth of people vote on? does that make sense?
Someone with more knowledge on the subject help me out.

Why are states based on point systems rather than votes? I played this game before... what was it called.... You know, when you pick 3 armys to send in to fight 2 armys, and then when you win/loose that state it turns from red to blue or blue to red, end of game...
The basic explanation which may go for those too, is they are outdated.
I always thought you vote, then it goes through.
When I got older, I learned that you probably vote and depending on your vote you vote which senator you want to send in your place to vote a certain way to come about the (number system) per state... which would probably tie into your "caucauses"....
Either way, a explanation would be greatful from me too.

I thought the Iowa caucuses were damn interesting. It was the first time I've ever watched them. I liked how that small town all met in that one family's living room lol. It was like we were being transported back in time or something. I loved it. Just a bunch of average Joes coming together to help decide the fate of a national party. It's how it should be, IMO.

I don't understand why tax dollars support party caucuses. I'm independent. Why am I paying for Dems and Republicans to pick their candidates? Shouldn't party dues pay for any expenses?

Why should florida's residents still be paying to build a new power plant when the powerplant has been promised to end in 2001?
Why did we just stop funding the spanish war?
Why if I make 500 dollars in a week - do I pay 125 in taxes... end up supporting a war on terror that includes mexicans, and buy gas for airforce one so bush could travel to campaign against kerry..?

Yeah, well the internet archive and the way-back machine or whatever it's called will screw your chances. Politically, if you say anything of substance or directly answer a question, you have no political future.
The only 2 candidates with unwavering positions and any shred of integrity (Paul and Kucinik) are painted as extreme nutballs.

Barack Hussein Obama Jr.....
I never did get the "Obama" thing, it just seemed too odd for me - especially because of "Osama". But if his middle name is Hussein.... god....
I'm gonna get a pin that says.. "I'm voting for Barrack Hussein Obama Jr" ... I'll watch how many people get pissed at me, lol. - P.S .. Sammie, I think it'd actually be hot if you got poked by a bro, I don't take you for a lesbian type of girl.
