Among the announcements coming out of CES is a press release (http://www.reuters.com/article/pressRelease/idUS42650+06-Jan-2008+PRN20080106) from Broadcom highlighting their presentation of a new connected digital TV platform. The purpose of the platform is to give consumers the ability to use their televisions to access the personal digital content that is on their computers. In essence, it blends the television and computer into one so that you can use the TV to get on-demand video, view Internet TV, play songs from your music library and look at your personal pictures.

They say: With the proliferation of personal digital content, Broadcom is removing the barrier that limits content to the personal computer through the convergence of DTV and networking technology. The high definition DTV is the natural choice for consumers wanting to view and share their photos and videos from anywhere in their home with the best possible viewing experience.
Hm, do you really want to see yourself in HD?
