Microsoft announced at CES last night that they've partnered with British Telecom (http://www.reuters.com/article/pressRelease/idUS35423+07-Jan-2008+PRN20080107), who'll allow customers to use the Xbox 360 as an IPTV set top. No date was announced, but BT customers will be able to buy the device directly from their phone company. British Telecom, like American telco AT&T, has opted to use VDSL instead of FTTH To deliver IPTV service to customers. The 360's will come integrated with Microsoft's MediaRoom (http://www.microsoftmediaroom.com/), which Microsoft says has one million installations worldwide via 19 different carriers, including AT&T U-Verse.
