Any thoughts on :Condition Zero?

Saw that it was "now available on STEAM" havn't seen the option to buy it only the offer saying it was available for $14.95. So I guess I'm just wondering if we are gona all decide to get it and switch the server over or is that even needed? Anyone got the 411?

Haha yep. I played CZ on fagbox and it looked horrible. I love my PC. I have been working through HL2 though. I have to say that, and I'm sure everyone knows this, it is simply gorgeous. Old news though. I can't wait for the expansion thats supposed to be out this summer. And in either this or last months issue of PC Gamer, there was rumor on a HL3 coming out too. Anyone else heard anything about that?

When the CS world was driven by 1.5 and the WON system the idea of Condition Zero was the fact it was going to be the new super CS. Well with much delay ( about a year 1/2 ) it finally came out a little after CS 1.6. Condition Zero is simply a single player version of CS with a small upgrade in graphics from the old Subpar versions of CS. People play it online over 1.6, but when HL2 came out and the release of CounterStrike Source there is no need for Condition Zero. It didnt live up to what they said it was going to be graphically, AI wise, and gameplay.

In all actuallity when the hype and idea of Condition Zero arose it was suppose to be what CS Source is today. It just took them too long to release the game. Its alright if you want a single player game to fool around with, but other than that I wouldnt even bother with it.

Time Line of CS as it stands now:

1. CS Betas
2. CS 1.0 - 1.6
3. CS CZ
4. CS Source

Most of the people that play Condition Zero also dont have the PC power to play Source. So that is there really only next big thing.

I dont see the GNG taking a step down in the near future to a low rate game and if it was because of a PC concern that people can play Source, then most GNG would call them pussies and inform them to upgrade or crawl in a corner and die.

ok, ok... I did play HL2 as well...

it is very nice to look at, as well as awesome gameplay.

Has anyone here ever heard of a game called Far Cry? I do have to hand it to these game developers.. if you have a really good video card, the graphics in that game are just unreal. The water is the craziest part, every aspect about it is as real as I have ever seen... and if you have your video settings set high enough, you can even see fish... and if your fast enough - you can even shoot them or stab them, and they will float to the surface.

The only thing I _dont_ like about this game is the multi-player. Its an awesome concept, dont get me wrong... but its basically like counter-strike, but in the Jungle... so it makes for slow game play. its about 80% sniping, any close combat you engage in is as if you have like a 700+ ping on counter-strike... (this is even on a LAN)... system resources get eaten up, and you will eventually need to restart your machine, after about an hour worth of game play.

anyhow, I dont know why I just got into this long explination of the game, but perhaps some people might be interested....

Funny thing you should mention CZ i just posted on the noobfest.com forums that i dont enjoy playing CZ anymore not because i dont like the players i do enjoy most of the players. Its just not fun anymore and I enjoy source more. CZ was fun when it came out and cs_office is still one of my favorite maps but the playabilty of the source is better the physics is better when you can get a fusion pack for source the guns, sound, skins look outstanding.
