So, it my not be Anime, but, perhaps an ancestor. I've been getting into Mr. Kurosawa's films lately. Lucas sites the film "Hidden Fortress" as a large infulence behind the SW films. His film "Yojimbo"(The Bodygaurd) was remade as "A Fist Full of Dollars" and "Seven Samurai" redone as "The Magnificent Seven".

Some Anime he wrote to keep it on topic: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0482424/

Good stuff if you are into Japanese film.

I went to japan and saw a few movies, came back here and its remade with witty punch lines and goofy actors.

Look at "HumTum" and "When Harry Met Sally". Its bollywood (yes, a "b"), but still... same thing, lol.

Bollywood would be the Hollywood of India. Think movies in america, mixed with mexican soap opera drama - that translates in bollywood into from how people get shot to how people meet.

They break out in song and dance, then a guy breaks in with a gun and shoots the main character/he goes flying 25 feet and lands bleeding and singing about death.

Oh, but the movie I remember now is a movie called...

"Shall We Dansu".
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117615/

Made in 98.

----

Remade here...

Shall We Dance Made: 2004
Genre: Dramedy
Stars: Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon, Jennifer Lopez
A married workaholic impulsively signs up for dance lessons after seeing the beautiful instructor through the window. Though disappointed that the beauty isn't his teacher, he surprises himself by falling in love with dancing. Little does he know his new passion, which he keeps a secret, could be a balm for his troubled marriage. This feel-good flick with an all-star cast is sure to dance its way into your heart.

Every person in the movie was the exact same character...

And I keep noticing india/turkish songs on the radio here lately.

Just found "Throne of Blood" at the library. His version of "Macbeth". I got sleepy and couldn't watch the whole thing last night. But it is pretty awesome thus far.
